Time To Celebrate: Mom Has Finally Retired

It's finally official, my mom has retired! We got everything set up yesterday with the Social Security office. Mom plans to continue working part time for a while, but the extra days off will give her body a much needed chance to rest. I look forward to seeing her have time to do more of the things she enjoys and hope she will have a chance to do some more blogging with me.I am planning a retirement party for the nursing home where she works. Plaids and Stripes: My Son’s Individual Sense of Style

When the time finally arrived that my pre-teen son refused to let me choose his clothes I was a little hurt. I was also proud of his growing independence. It was time for him to develop his own individual sense of style.  What did I have to worry about anyway? His mom is a fashion diva. I’d always chosen fashionable clothing for him to wear. Shopping for clothes was something I really enjoyed and I was pretty good at it. Surely, I passed my fashion sense onto him?
