On our recent trip to Great Wolf Lodge we stopped into the Bear Paw Sweets & Eats shop. I was so intrigued by the Banana Dog listed on the menu. We didn’t order any banana dogs that day, but I knew it was something I would be making at home.
I love it when the family gets excited about something that is so easy to prepare. This morning for breakfast we had banana dogs and this recipe only required only the following four ingredients:
whole grain hot dog buns
bananas
peanut butter (we used crunchy)
jam or jelly
Spread some peanut butter and jelly over the hot dog bun and place a peeled banana into the center. The banana dog was a huge hit this morning and it would also be great as a snack or for lunch.
Enjoy!

Although a fan of bananas and peanut butter and jelly, this particular combo of 3 does no appeal to me. But as the saying goes “To each , his or her own!” Enjoy!
What a cute idea. We do banana peanut butter roll-ups (in whole grain tortillas). We’ll have to try this.
I had to laugh. I’m always trying to find something that the grandkids will eat. This I’m gonna try! LOL
