I have always made an effort to purchase goods from local artists and home crafters, and enjoy shopping on sites such as Etsy. Now I have the chance to support artists from around the world. NOVICA and National Geographic give artisans around the world a platform on which to sell their goods online. It’s a way for artisans to express their true artistic talents and to spur their creativity. For us the consumers, NOVICA provides access to unique, hard-to-find items at great prices.

I am not yet a world traveler, but NOVICA gives me the opportunity to buy items from the smallest of villages, all around the globe. Over the years National Geographic has let us see a world that we otherwise would not have known. Now through NOVICA they have given us the ability to shop from around the world. The NOVICA web site has a unique variety of gifts, jewelry and home decor. Each item on the web site tells you who the artist is and where they are located on the globe. It’s really neat to see the different styles and craftsmanship from different parts of the world.

My mom, Laura, and I have really enjoyed looking at all of the unique and beautiful jewelry on NOVICA. Laura is obsessed with gemstone jewelry, often watching jewelry television shows until the wee hours of the night sometimes. She was quite thrilled with the selection of jewelry available from NOVICA. She selected a cocktail ring featuring a gorgeous Chalcedony stone. The ring was made by and shipped to us directly from an artisan in India. The ring looked lovely on the NOVICA web site, but is even more stunning than we had imagined.

The ‘Stargazers’ earrings I received from Thailand are super cute. They arrived in a beautiful gift box. I don’t wear large earrings and these medium sized hoop earrings are just big enough to make a statement. The entire earring is done in Sterling Silver and each hoop has three floating stars and 2 Sterling Silver beads. Each star gradually gets larger in size. The stars look like they have been hammered out and are unlike any other earrings I have owned. These are super fun earrings that can easily be dressed up or down.
