My family has many traditions, but not many go back as far as the holiday tradition of serving Hickory Farms. After we open presents on Christmas morning, we eat waffles with strawberries and vanilla ice cream. And warm syrup. It’s such a treat and has become so synonymous with Christmas in our family. And as my brothers and I have each grown up, gotten married, and had kids of our own, this has become a tradition that the kids just love (who wouldn’t love to have ice cream for breakfast?

We do a massive amount of holiday baking every Christmas. Every Christmas morning I make Coquito (a Puerto Rican style egg nog) and serve it in our special little Christmas mugs to have while we open our presents. And my dad’s family had their own little tradition of having Snowballs with egg nog on Christmas while watching whatever was the designated Christmas movie of that particular year; and he passed that on to us. The snowballs are those little balls of vanilla ice cream, I think they’re dipped in white chocolate or some sort of icing, and then rolled in coconut. They come in a holiday box of 6 I think, with little red candles. And it’s just not Christmas without my mom’s Christmas Surprise (dessert- a lot of junk is eaten around the holidays in my family lol). (Nikki Marie on rafflecopter)
