We do so much for the kids during the holiday season, but enjoying a good bottle of wine is something that I can do to treat myself. I’m not someone who drinks wine with every meal, but when gathering with friends and family I enjoy sharing a bottle of wine. In rural Georgia you could say that our wine selection is pretty limited… a wine club membership is such an obvious solution for someone like me. Not only do I get to try wines that I would otherwise never get to experience, but I know it is going to be good.

It’s pretty much a sure bet for me, but still I was impressed by the fabulous Daniel Gehrs 2009 Central Coast Merlot. Even someone like my sister-in-law, who typically doesn’t drink red wine, truly enjoyed a glass of this wine.
For me the real shining star of this wine shipment was the Chenin Blanc. I had never even heard of this wine, and was so impressed by the heavy notes of citrus and mild sweetness. I will surely be ordering another bottle of this crisp, zesty wine.
