Crock Pot Play Dough Recipe

Yes, I am jumping on the crock pot band wagon! I thought I would give it a unique twist and share little known crock pot uses and recipes. You will be wowed an amazed by all you can do with a crock pot!

Crock Pot Play Dough Recipe Ingredients:

2 cups all-purpose flour (substitute rice flour for gluten free)
1 cup corn starch
1 cup salt
1/4 cup cream of tartar
2 cups hot water
2 tablespoons vegetable or canola oil

Turn your crock pot onto the low setting and let it heat up. Add dry ingredients and stir to blend. Add the water and oil. Put on lid and turn heat up to high. Set a timer to check and stir every 20-30 minutes. It should be ready in a little under 2 hours. You will know it’s done when play dough begins to form a ball. Knead dough on a smooth surface, being careful because it will be hot. If your dough is a little sticky add more cornstarch and if it is dry add a little more hot water.

Separate the dough into manageable portions, poking a hole into the center of each ball. Add a few drops of food coloring into each hole and knead dough ball until color is fully incorporated. This is a great job for the kids.
