I’ve been thinking about making sugar cubes for a while now and just love it when a project like this turns out so perfectly! It’s surprisingly easy to make these sugar cubes, so let’s get right to it…

teaspoon

candy molds

diy sugar cubes

Start with approximately 1 cup of sugar and slowly add water, no more than a teaspoon at a time, stirring to mix. Do this until sugar is a paste-like consistency. Make sure your water has cooled completely, otherwise the sugar will melt.

Fill candy molds with the sugar-water paste, pressing down gently with your fingers to pack it in.

I particularly like the brown and white sugar cubes that are shaped like shells. They will be great to serve with iced tea by the pool this Summer.
