Spaghetti Carbonara - Family Dollar More for Less Recipe Challenge Finalist #FamilyDollarMore4Less

Spaghetti Carbonara

1 pound Barilla Spaghetti
8 slices Bar-S Sliced Bacon
2 teaspoons Family Gourmet Minced Garlic
salt and pepper (Family Gourmet Iodized Salt & Pepper Duo)
3 Grade A Large Country Charm Eggs
¾ cup Family Gourmet Grated Parmesan Cheese, plus more for serving
½ cup PET Brand Half and Half

Spaghetti Carbonara

Set a large pot of water to boil (for pasta). In a large skillet, cook bacon over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until crisp almost, approximately 7 to 10 minutes. Add minced garlic and cook an additional 1 – 2 minutes, until bacon is crisp. Using a slotted spoon, transfer to a paper-towel-lined plate.

Salt boiling water generously; add pasta and cook until al dente, according to package instructions.

Meanwhile, in a large bowl, whisk together eggs, Parmesan, and half-and-half. Set aside.

Drain pasta, leaving some water clinging to it. Working quickly, add hot pasta to egg mixture. Add bacon and garlic; season with salt and pepper, and toss all to combine (heat from pasta will cook eggs). Serve immediately, sprinkled with additional Parmesan cheese.

Optionally, serve with Family Gourmet Texas Garlic Toast and a vegetable of your choosing.

This creamy, mouth watering dish was prepared for just $13.45, and will feed up to 8 people. Every single ingredient was purchased at Family Dollar! The possibilities are endless with their new expanded food selection.
