Have you ever thought about how much extra trash your family produces during the holiday season? Between all the baking, holiday meals, craft projects, and gift giving my family generates a lot of extra trash. On any given week I pull three full trash cans out for collection. During the holiday season, I’m piling extra bags on top of the cans. This reminds me that I’ll need to be sure and get some Christmas cookies to our trash collectors this year. Tackling holiday messes can be tough, but thanks to Glad ForceFlex trash bags it’s going to be a little easier this year.
For family gatherings I often use paper products to try and save myself a little time on the clean up, but the trash can fills up really fast. Then there’s Christmas morning. I literally sit with a trash bag in hand to try and stay atop of the wrapping paper and boxes that are being tossed all over the living room. The kids go nuts on Christmas morning and it can get messy real fast.
Tackling holiday messes can be tricky, but it’s manageable if you clean up as you go and use extra strong, tear resistant trash bags like Glad ForceFlex. It’s so frustrating to fill a trash bag, only to have it tear before making out to the garbage can. I’ve tried saving money in the past by purchasing generic trash bags, but ended up spending more after having to double bag everything. The Glad ForceFlex bags literally stretch so that I won’t have to worry about tearing.
Glad has teamed up with Tori Spelling to host a fun Facebook series, OMG Extra: After The Wild Life, which features the cast of animal characters from last year’s mock reality series, The Wild Life. It’s a cute series and there’s a fun game too under the tab “Missing in the Mess.” To check it out, simply “Like” Glad on Facebook.
I’m really looking forward to this holiday season and am glad that I’ll be able to stay on top of messes, thanks in part to Glad.
How do you tackle holiday messes?
* I participated in a campaign on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for Glad. I received products to facilitate my review as well as a promotional item as a thank-you for participating.
I so know how important a good trash bag is. Sometimes the cheapo just won’t do especially during this time of year.
I really can’t get through normal everyday life without my Glad bags, let alone the holidays!
I keep a trash bag in hand Christmas morning too! If I don’t, we start losing the toys and gifts in the middle of the trash.
We definitely have a lot more trash this time of year. It makes me extra glad that they do trash pick up twice a week! I could live my whole life without ever needing to deal with Tori Spelling, but thanks for sharing about the bags. We need something that can handle our busiest/messiest time of year!
With a big family like ours, we learned real quick there’s some things you can’t go cheapo on. Toilet paper, sanitary pads and garbage bags! We ONLY buy Glad! I feel ya on that!
I love Glad bags
We love Glad bags for holiday clean up too. While I’m pretty tidy the rest of the year, I do love a good wrapping paper mess on Christmas morning. So we are a bit opposite that way but sounds like we still have the ultimate clean up goal in mind.
i love using Glad products .,.,
