Harness Your Inner Super Hero with Big G Cereals

One of the great things about super heroes and comic books is that they bring out the kid in all of us. It’s one of those things you never grow out of. Super heroes inspire us to be brave and fierce, and to help others. My granddaughters and I had a little chat about the qualities of a Superhero and came up with the following attributes: brave, strong, intelligent, helps others, role model, earns respect, likes gadgets, hard working, and have special powers. These are all fine qualities we should aspire to.

The special comic books have an activity for kids to do in the back of the comic. Kids can be part of the JUSTICE LEAGUE by helping the Super Heroes solve a word search, maze, connect the dots, or other activity. Then, they can head to the Big G Cereal Heroes website to read part 2 of the story. How fun is that?

For more info about these comics and the #superheroing promotion, visit the General Mills website and stay tuned for more info on #cerealheroes and how you can help your children harness their inner super hero.

We love these cereals and the added freebie is a great bonus. If I can hide it from the kids, I could throw them in the Easter Baskets!

  2. JJ Caraway says

Oh I will definitely have to get these for the grandchildren. They had so many cute things like this when my children were growing up but don’t see too many neat things anymore.

  3. says

I think that is so awesome! I remember when they use to put stuff in all cereal. I wish they still did that. Kids now days have no idea how it feels to look in a box of cereal and find a surprise!!

  4. angela higdon says

And even better, General MIlls cereals have Box Tops! It is a major factor in my cereal buying decisions.

  5. Sandy Cain says

It’s been way too long since I had this cereal. It sure reminds me of a time when my kids would “beg” me for it. This phone looks just like what I need. I’ve been wanting to get one so when I win it it will be a blessing.

  9. Charlene says

I’m not a kid anymore(at least by age) but I love cereal boxes that give you something to do while you eat. Let your imagination soar. Keep it up Big G!

  10. says

I remember when I was a kid getting all sorts of cool stuff in a cereal box. Back then, there was good stuff (at least to me as a kid) like toys and superhero stuff. Now, most cereals have nothing at all or at the most, something like a little paper cutout. I’m glad to see a DC comic in the cereal box, although I have to confess that I like the Marvel Universe much better.

  20. Christina says

I agree that its good to get the kids reading while eating the cereal and a great way other than just reading the boxes.

  21. Paula Morgan says

I am ALL FOR anything that encourages kids to READ!! As soon as either of my own kids expressed an interest in something growing up, I would get them an “age appropriate” book about it. Not only did it encourage them to read, but it educated them about so many varied subjects, from Dinosaurs and Sharks to Aquariums and Parakeets…and so much more!! I also made sure, at an early age, to tell my kids about faraway places, and read to them, shared with them, and I was so extremely proud when they were in their later years in school, to find out that my 2 kids were among the very few that knew all 50 States & their Capitals, along with a lot of World Geography.

  22. Vanessa says

  26. Jammie says

When we went to the store a few weeks back, we seen the comics in the cereal, my daughter had me buy several boxes, sad thing she got the same comic in each box. But she still loves the comnic book she got.

  27. Debbie says

I think kids would love the idea of getting a comic book in their cereal. Hopefully, it would encourage kids to read more, rather than play video games.

  28. Lisa Konieczke says

It is really cool of Big G to put in comic books. It’s far and few between these days that you get anything in a box of cereal anymore. I do think it’s even better to give a comic book. It encourages reading by making it fun and exciting. My Son loves the superheros. I agree that the superheros are something that kids can aspire to be.

My grandson always picked his cereal out by what was in or on the box. Guess I did the same as a child, it was fun and the kids would love a comic book

  34. Brigid OHara Koshko says

As a teacher and a mom I love the idea of comic books instead of toys. I think it is a great way to encourage reading. Also, I believe books will be kept longer than a small toy that tend to get lost or my kids lose interest in playing with.
