Hectic Schedules: How to Keep a Clear Head

When Mucinex® approached me about tips to keeping a clear head while balancing a hectic schedule, I gladly accepted, since getting organized and becoming more efficient is something I have been working very hard at. I spent most of 2012 flying by the seat of my pants, but have managed to start the new year, keeping my cool and a clear head. I’ll share some of my secrets on how I transformed my life from chaos to calm.

Make a List. I am a list person, rather I have become a list person. This wasn’t always the case. I probably wouldn’t get very much done most days, if I didn’t have lists to go by. Each evening, I go through that day’s lists and cross off everything that I accomplished. If it’s a good day everything get’s crossed off, but that’s not always the case. Next, I go through my calendar and create a list for key things that need to be accomplished. I also have a lists for daily chores that I make copies of, as needed. Chore charts are also great for keeping everyone in the house on task.

Have a good calendar or planner. I went into serious panic mode last week when I realized my planner had gone missing. We searched the house from top to bottom to no avail. I had purchased some new office furniture and did a major clean out of my work space a day earlier. I have a feeling my beloved new 2013 planner accidentally wound up at the dump. Having a good planner that has a month at a glance, week at a glance, and a place for notes really helps me to keep a clear head.

Minimize clutter. It’s impossible to have a clear head, if you’re living in a mess. Set the timer if you must, but take 15 – 30 minutes each day to simply put things in their place. The new year is a great time to start fresh, by clearing out cabinets, closets, and drawers.

Don’t sweat the small stuff. When you have a busy schedule like mine, things aren’t always going to go as planned. It’s important to expect the unexpected, and not sweat the small stuff. I try to not stress over things that are outside of my control, and it’is a motto that has served me well throughout the years.

Take care of yourself. I’m trying very hard to eat healthier, drink plenty of water, get enough exercise, and plenty of rest. Being physically healthy makes a big difference when trying to keep a clear head, and keep up with a busy schedule. The cold and flu season is in full swing, so it’s important to be proactive in battling germs. However, if you do find yourself feeling under the weather, there’s always Mucinex® Sinus-MaxTM which fights mucus and congestion in addition to sinus pressure and headache/pain.

Balancing a hectic schedule is hard enough. Trying to keep it together when you’re under the weather requires additional help. Maximum Strength* Mucinex® Sinus-Maxâ„¢ Pressure & Pain triple action formula fights mucus, congestion, sinus pressure and headache/pain.  With cold and flu season in full force, I am relieved to know that even my worst symptoms can’t derail my plans.
