Places to Visit while in Los Angeles

When I first moved out to Los Angeles from Minnesota all I did was explore. I wanted to see every bit of this city, so explored I did, and I learned the city pretty quickly. I also found some favorite spots that I’d like to share with you, if you ever visit the city of Los Angeles.

1) Original Farmer’s Market

One thing I truly love about Los Angeles is their fresh farmer markets. I’ve even done research on them and found that you could visit one every day of the week if you chose to. However, one of my all time favorite places in the city is The Original Farmer’s Market. It is also connected to The Grove (an outdoor shopping mall) so you can get your shopping done after a nice meal found within the Farmer’s Market. They have little shops and eateries within the Farmer’s Market grounds whether you’re a lover of French Cuisine, to Italian, to Deli’s to Die hard meats you will love spending some time taking in the smells.

2) Griffith Observatory

Some people hate it because it can get crowded, and parking is always fun to find, but once you’re up there the views of the surrounding city down below are completely worth it. You also can get a good view of the famed “Hollywood Sign.” The best time to visit Griffith Observatory is during a sunset though.

If you ever get to Los Angeles, it’s a must to stop by Santa Monica. Famous for its pier and street musicians. Stopping by the Santa Monica Pier any day of the week will have you admiring the ferris wheel and roller coaster going by on the pier along with the Street Musicians on the boardwalk. Whether you’re stopping by during the day to breathe in that ocean air, or stopping by at night for a little fun on the rides and games. It’s a must see.

And afterwards spend some time along 3rd Street Promenade where some fantastic shops are located and eateries along with those street musicians.

4) Spend a Day in Long Beach

I am partial to Long Beach, at the very south end of Los Angeles because it’s right next door to me, but because it always feels like a city in itself. From Pike’s Place where you can ride the Ferris Wheel to the Aquarium of the Pacific to visiting the famous Queen Mary to spending some time along 2nd Street, Long Beach is a fun place to visit.

5) Hollywood

And what is a visit to Los Angeles without a visit to Hollywood Blvd. Follow the Walk of Fame, and take pictures amongst the stars to a visit to Grauman’s Chinese Theatres who recently changed names to TCL Chinese Theatres.

Take in the sites of Hollywood, and admire the buildings from Hotel Roosevelt to Capital Records.

So, when will you be headed to Los Angeles?
