It’s the season of giving. Since today is Giving Tuesday, I think it’s the perfect time to share a bit about Rachael’s Rescue® – a charitable organization founded by Rachael Ray that helps animals in need. This post is sponsored by Rachael Ray Nutrish. However, all opinions and enthusiasm about Nutrish are completely my own.
Everyone knows how much I love my pets. If you’re a regular reader of About a Mom, you also know that my pets only eat Rachael Ray Nutrish. It’s a super premium dog and cat food made from natural ingredients, with meat as the first ingredient. My pups can’t get enough of Nutrish Chicken Paw Pie.
Rachael’s Rescue is another reason I’m such a huge fan of this brand.
About Rachael’s Rescue
Rachael Ray has a great love for animals, and it translates well beyond her personal pets and her line of dog and cat food. The same year that Rachael started Nutrish with Ainsworth Pet Nutrition she started Rachael’s Rescue.
Every year, millions of animals enter shelters throughout the U.S that are in need of care, medical attention, food, and forever homes. Rachael Ray recognized a need and a way she could help. A portion of proceeds from each sale of Nutrish is donated to The Rachael Ray Foundation, which helps animals in need through Rachael’s Rescue.
Through 2016, Rachael’s Rescue has donated more than $14 million dollars to pet charities and organizations that help animals in need. Just last month there was a huge announcement that 200,000 meals will be donated to felines in need, in celebration of the Nutrish for Cats Facebook community exceeding 200,000 members. Isn’t that such an amazing way to celebrate?
The food – totaling in retail value to more than $50,000 – will be donated to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals’ (ASPCA) Cruelty Intervention Advocacy team, which works with pet parents experiencing difficulty caring for their pets due to homelessness, medical or financial stressors. They also provide temporary care for pets whose families are seeking shelter due to domestic violence.
A Statement from Ainsworth Pet Nutrition:
“At Ainsworth, we believe pets are a part of the family, and when hardship strikes, there is nothing more important than keeping a family together,” said Steve Joyce, Vice President of Marketing for Ainsworth Pet Nutrition. “We’re so happy we could use this milestone to provide cat parents going through difficult times with peace of mind that their cats will be well fed and cared for despite their circumstances.”
I will never run out of great things to say about Rachael Ray Nutrish and Rachael’s Rescue.
Looking for a great way to give back this holiday season? You don’t have to be a celebrity like Rachael Ray to help animals in need. I recently shared some ways to help your local animal shelter or rescue. I hope it will inspire you to help animals in need during this season of giving.
I love that Rachael Ray cares so much about animals and donates so much to help them. My dog doesn’t eat the Nutrish food, but he LOVES the line of treats!
i have heard fantastic things about the Rachael Ray brand. It sounds like a great choice for pet food.
I think it’s so cool that she has such a huge passion for animals, after already having a big passion for food! The food sounds wonderful!
My dog is picky eater too. took her to vet & was told she needed to lose 10 lbs. vet told me to feed her the wet dog food instead of dry. so Honey eats Nutrish wet–she likes it all fut her fave is the lamb.
I sometimes buy Beneful but if Nutrish is son sale I stock up on that –to help the animals in the shelters.
Hats off to Rachael Ray for making good dog/cat food & also helping out the animal shelters.
Would love to meet this Wonderful lady sometime.
My dogs love this food! I love that the brand is really focused on giving dogs what they need instead of just making money.
I buy Nutrish for my cats. They love it and so do I. Our 4H club helps out at the local shelter, too.
I love her love of pets. I’ve heard great things about her pet food and how healthy it is.
I’ve been thinking about switching to Nutrish for the last few weeks. We’re about to run out of our food, and Nutrish sounds like its’ so much better than what we’ve been using.
I have to tell my friend who has cats about this. I now that she is also preparing to send a package to her local animal shelter too.
I am so happy to hear she does such great things for animals in need. Wish I could be just like her and have the money to help them.
