How many times has your child started to eat an apple or another piece of fruit and ended up tossing half of it into the trash? That has happened more than a few times at my house, especially with my younger grandchildren. I was recently introduced to the genius of Lil Snappers kid size fruit, and no longer have to worry about perfectly good fruit going to waste. I love the idea of fruits being grown in a size and variety that is just for kids. My grandchildren like it too!
Lil Snappers was kind enough to send my family a wonderful variety of kid size fruits to sample. We received a package of beautiful Pink Lady apples, and a variety of Sunkist citrus fruits including: Minneola Tangelos, California Mandarins, and Cara Cara Navel Oranges. All of the fruit we received was fabulously fresh, juicy, and delicious. I like that the fruit in convenient zippered bags, for convenience and freshness.
While I try to keep the fruit bowl full at all times, that’s not always enough to encourage the kids to eat healthy snacks. Making snack time fun is a must and I came across some super fun recipes on the Lil Snappers web site. I started out looking for one recipe to try, but quickly found that I wanted to make them all. I have two to share with you.
Orange You a Caterpillar?
Apple Smile Sandwiches
I found that even the bigger kids (self included) enjoyed these snacks. All of the fun recipes, including the two that I prepared, can be found on the Lil Snappers web site. The recipes are just what we moms and grandmas want in a snack – they are simple to prepare, healthy, and delicious.
