Spring Exercise Activities for Kids, final

It’s time to get the kids moving and exercising!  These activities can be done indoors our outdoors.  They’re perfect for an Easter party, playdate, beautiful Spring day or any day after the kids come home from school!

What I love most about these activities is the fun way it encourages children to exercise and get their wiggles out.  Just a few thrifty supplies and your kids will thank you for making their exercise experience more fun than ever!

I decided on these adorable plastic carrot eggs from the dollar store.  You can use any plastic egg you’d like for this activity, just make sure they’re easy to open and close for little hands.

Assembly:

Step#1:  Cut off the lid of an empty egg carton.  Any type of egg carton will work for this activity.  I then used a sharpie marker to write numbers 1-12 on the bottom of the egg carton slots.  I decided to mix up the numbers for more mystery in the game!

Step #2:  Print out the FREE Printable in either color or black and white.

Step #3:  Cut the exercise activities into strips and fold them in half.

Step #5:  Place one activity into each plastic carrot egg.  Put all carrots into a slot in the empty egg carton.

Tip:  I used all exercise strips and placed 2 options in some of the eggs.  I told my kids those were the “super booster eggs” since they can choose to do one of the exercises or be super strong and do both.  They loved the challenge!

This exercise activity kept my kids busy and active for about an hour!  It was fun to hear their laughter and how they challenged one another.  I hope you and the children in your life enjoy these Spring Exercise Activities for Kids!

  • This activity is so much fun. My toddler who is 18 months old wouldn’t appreciate this yet, but I can put other surprises inside plastic eggs and make him work for it. I think this is very much appropriate for summer, too. Those plastic eggs will float in kiddie pools. Great post! 🙂

  • Supercute! I love the carrot egg shells with the exercises inside. The only one I’d avoid is sit-ups. Most kids (even adults) don’t do them well, and then they contribute to lower back and core injuries like diastasis recti and hernias. My son can’t do them because he had double hernia surgery at age 2…! And most postpartum women should wait to do crunches, planks & situps until they’ve seen a physical therapist. Those motions also reinforced forward, folded, hunched posture which too many kids are stuck in right now. We need to get them unfolded and upright! Great core exercises can be cartwheels, hula-hooping, deep belly breaths, transverse holds, and even a simple squat. Going for a walk is also awesome for the core and pelvic floor muscles. I’d love to offer a free kids workout video for your blog here if you’re interested!
