When I was little I would put out homemade leprechaun traps. My mom would sew little clothes and leave them in the traps. She would tell me there must be naked leprechauns running around!

As a family we don’t do anything special for St. Patricks Day but when I was a teacher EVERYONE wore green and we did lots of cute crafts.

  3. Stephanie Hirsch says

Yes, I make a traditional Irish dinner. Some Irish soda bread, guiness cupcakes with baileys icing, Shepherds Pie, and then I also make an all green salad with cucumbers, tomatilloes, green olives, and a green dressing! My kids love it!

  4. Jenifer Corbett says

We would make sharock cookies to leave out for leprechauns to eat while i slept. I would wake up with a little “gold” coin on my dresser as a thank you for the cookies.

We go to the St Patty’s Day parade in Baton Rouge every year. Well I haven’t been in a few years due to being sick with Lyme disease.

  6. John Krabbe says

For the family being Irish, we have no real tradition. I do however eat my share of potatoes and drink heavily the rest of the year…so I try it easy on this day since the bars are too crowded for me.

We really don’t have any St Patty’s Day tradition other than making sure we’re all wearing green that day!

Growing up we always had a boiled dinner-corned beef or smoked shoulder & vegetables all boiled together (not my favorite) and we all wore green
