Is there anything better than comfort food at the end of a long day? I don’t think so. There are certain meals that just make us feel warm inside. I have a few that do it for me. A grilled cheese sandwich is near the top of that list. I have loved it since I was a kid, and am excited to share my Ultimate Grilled Cheese Sandwich recipe with you.
I remember the grilled cheese that I had as a kid. 2 pieces of thin white bread with a processed American cheese grilled in loads of butter. I loved it then, but these days I want something that fits in with my lifestyle.

What do you need to make the Ultimate Grilled Cheese?
Ultimate Grilled Cheese Sandwich
(yields 2 sandwiches)
4 thick slices Italian or sourdough bread
Softened butter, enough to spread over 4 slices of bread
4 slices Sargento® Pepper Jack Cheese
4 slices Sargento® Provolone Cheese
4 slices Sargento® Sharp Cheddar Cheese
4 pieces cooked bacon
2 slices deli ham, thin sliced
1 Roma tomato, sliced
Preheat skillet over medium heat.
Generously butter one side of each slice of bread. Place 2 slices of bread butter side down.
Onto each slice of bread, add remaining ingredients in this order:
2 slices Sargento® Pepper Jack Cheese
2 slices Sargento® Provolone Cheese
2 pieces bacon
1 slice ham, folded in half
2 – 3 slices tomato
2 slices Sargento® Sharp Cheddar Cheese
Top with second slice of bread, butter side up. Repeat for second sandwich.
In large skillet, cook grilled cheese sandwiches 2 minutes per side, until cheese is melted and bread is golden brown.
