Xbox 360 Kinect Rush

Kinect Rush is a Disney Pixar Adventure that invites families and fans of all ages to experience the worlds of five beloved Disney Pixar films, teaming up with Pixar characters to overcome puzzling obstacles and find hidden secrets. When I first showed this game to the kids, they weren’t very enthusiastic about it – thinking that they were too old for it. I encouraged them to give it a chance, and they are so thankful they did. It’s definitely now one of their favorite games for the Xbox 360 Kinect.

Kinect Rush is all ages video game magic!

This game lets you team up with characters from “The Incredibles,” “Ratatouille,” “Up,” “Cars” and “Toy Story” to solve puzzles and uncover hidden secrets. For the first time in Kinect history, you and your favorite Pixar character can interact on screen and play cooperatively to solve challenges. Use your voice and body to seamlessly move from fast-paced puzzle-solving to moments of pulse-pounding agility and speed.

I love seeing the kids running, like they are here playing “Ratatouille”!

To get started in the game, you step into the character scanner. The game has the ability to scan you into the game using Kinect technology to create a personalized avatar that includes your features, and even the colors of your clothing. This will then be used to create your character in five different Pixar movie worlds!

You’ll follow Violet through the world of “The Incredibles” and perform super-hero type stunts, as you fight villains along with the family. In “Ratatouille” world you become a new character, not in the original movie, as you follow Remy through escapades in the kitchen. In “Toy Story” you’ll become a robot and follow Woody in an adventure through the daycare. The “Cars” adventure has you racing around with Mater, using an invisible steering wheel.

That’s Becca crashing off a cliff in “Cars”!

(Thank goodness we have 2 more years before she get’s her learners permit.)

“Cars” is the kid’s favorite with “Ratatouille” coming in as a close second. In “Cars” the kids love how realistic it feels to use the virtual steering wheel. I truly appreciate a game like Kinect Rush that get the kids running and jumping, especially during these colder months when we’re cooped indoors. While my nieces and nephew (tweens and teens) love this game, it’s very well suited for younger kids.

Kinect Rush: A Disney Pixar Adventure was recently honored in the Parents Choice Awards Video Game Category, and received the National Parenting Seal of Approval for Fall 2012! The game is rated E for Everyone and has a manufacturer suggest price of $49.99, however you can probably find some great holiday deals on it. Amazon currently has it available for $49.99.
