Very soon our children will be putting on their new clothes, shoes and favorite backpack to head back to school! With that brings a lot of differing emotions and experiences.  Parents, grandparents and children will be filled with joy and excitement while some will experience nervousness and tears as they kiss their little ones goodbye on their 1st day of school.
To capture those moments I know I’ll be taking loads of pictures to be sure I don’t miss a smile, wink or kiss!  With this in mind, my children thought it would be the perfect opportunity to make a 1st Day of School Picture Frame Craft for their 1st day of school photos!
We gathered all of our crafting supplies and picked up a wooden picture frame from our local big box store and quickly went to work creating the most awesome 1st day of school picture frames I’ve ever seen. Â You too can capture memories in these adorable picture frames so you’ll always remember your child’s or grandchild’s 1st day of school!
Supplies:
- Washable paints
- Paint brushes
- Wooden photo frame
- Wooden letters
- Magnetic letters
- Sticker letters
- Flowers, buttons and a variety of crafting supplies
Time to Create!
We started off by choosing one or two paint colors for our picture frames.
After our picture frames dried it was time to decorate them! Â Tip: put your frame outside and they’ll dry quicker.
My children really wanted to put the grade that they’ll be starting in the fall on their picture frames. Â We used our chunky magnetic letters and numbers and hot glued them to our frames. Â They also used chunky peel and stick letters.
Once they decided on the layout of their 1st Day of School Picture Frame Craft creations, they used a variety of crafting supplies to really make their frames personal and awesome!
I just love the different themes and personalities that shine through in this fun craft!
I hope that you’ve enjoyed this craft and now you’re ready with the perfect picture to put inside from your child’s 1st day of school!
