Looking forward to the 2018  Disney movie schedule? There isn’t a single Disney movie coming out in 2018 that I am not excited to see, but if I had to choose one it would be Avengers: Infinity War. I can’t wait to find out which ones you are looking forward to! It is going to be a great year at the movies.

BLACK PANTHER- February 16, 2018 (Marvel Studios) After the death of T’Challa’s father, he returns home to the isolated, technologically advanced African nation to succeed to the throne and take his rightful place as king. He soon has to face an old enemy reappears and T’Challa is tested. The fate of Wakanda and the entire world is at risk.

“Black Panther” stars Chadwick Boseman, Michael B. Jordan, Lupita Nyong’o, Danai Gurira, Martin Freeman, Daniel Kaluuya, Letitia Wright, Winston Duke, with Angela Bassett, with Forest Whitaker, and Andy Serkis.  Black Panther is directed by Ryan Coogler and produced by Kevin Feige with Louis D’Esposito, Victoria Alonso, Nate Moore, Jeffrey Chernov and Stan Lee serving as executive producers. Ryan Coogler & Joe Robert Cole wrote the screenplay.

A WRINKLE IN TIME- March 9, 2018 – (Walt Disney Studios) A Wrinkle in Time is an epic adventure based on the Madeleine L’Engle’s timeless classic about Meg Murray, a typical middle school student who is struggling with issues of self-worth. Meg just wants to fit in. She is intelligent and uniquely gifted, as is Meg’s younger brother, Charles Wallace, but she has yet to realize it for herself. The mysterious disappearance of Mr. Murry leaves Meg devastated and her mother broken-hearted. Her brother introduces Meg and her classmate Calvin to three celestial beings (Mrs. Which, Mrs. Whatsit and Mrs. Who) who have journeyed to Earth to help search for their father. Together they embark on their quest. They are travel using a wrinkling of time and space known as tessering. As they are transported to worlds beyond their imagination, they must confront a powerful evil force. To make it back home to Earth, Meg must face the darkness she has within herself to harness the strength she needs to defeat the darkness that is enveloping the Universe. Taking place across dimensions of time and space,  A Wrinkle in Time examines the nature of darkness versus light and, ultimately, the triumph of love. One girl’s transformative journey is led by three celestial guides. Through the movie, it is discovered that strength comes from embracing who we are and one’s individuality. The best way to triumph over fear is to travel by one’s own light.

With a cast featuring Oprah Winfrey as Mrs. Which, Oscar winner Reese Witherspoon as Mrs. Whatsit, Emmy® nominee Mindy Kaling as Mrs. Who, Gugu Mbatha-Raw as Mrs. Murry, Michael Peňa as Red and introducing Storm Reid as Meg Murry, with two-time Emmy winner Zach Galifianakis as The Happy Medium and Emmy nominee Chris Pine as Mr. Murry, this star filled cast is sure to please.

AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR- May 4, 2018 –  (Marvel Studios) With 10 years in the making, Avengers: Infinity War is an unprecedented cinematic journey that spans the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe. Avengers: Infinity War is the ultimate, deadliest showdown of all time. The Avengers and their Super Hero allies must be willing to sacrifice all in an attempt to defeat the powerful Thanos before his blitz of devastation and ruin puts an end to the universe.

Anthony and Joe Russo direct the film, which is produced by Kevin Feige. Louis D’Esposito, Victoria Alonso, Michael Grillo and Stan Lee are the executive producers. Christopher Markus & Stephen McFeely wrote the screenplay.

SOLO: A STAR WARS STORY-May 25, 2018 –(Lucasfilm) Taking place on board the Millennium Falcon and journey to a galaxy far, far away in “Solo: A Star Wars Story,” an all-new adventure with the most beloved scoundrel in the galaxy. Through a series of daring escapades deep within a dark and dangerous criminal underworld, Han Solo meets his mighty future copilot Chewbacca and encounters the notorious gambler Lando Calrissian, in a journey that will set the course of one of the Star Wars saga’s most unlikely heroes.

INCREDIBLES 2– June 15, 2018 (Disney / Pixar) Everyone’s favorite family of superheroes is back in “Incredibles 2”.  This time Helen (voice of Holly Hunter) is in the spotlight, and Bob (voice of Craig T. Nelson) is at home with Violet (voice of Sarah Vowell) and Dash (voice of Huck Milner) while carrying out the day-to-day heroics of “normal” life. While it is a tough transition for everyone that is made tougher by the fact that the family is still unaware of baby Jack-Jack’s emerging superpowers. With a new villain that is hatching a brilliant and dangerous plot, the family and Frozone (voice of Samuel L. Jackson) must find a way to work together again—which is easier said than done, even when they’re all Incredible.

ANT-MAN AND THE WASP-  July 6, 2018 –  (Marvel Studios) Here comes a new chapter featuring heroes with the astonishing ability to shrink: “Ant-Man and The Wasp.”  In the aftermath of “Captain America:  Civil War,” Scott Lang (Rudd) grapples with the consequences of his choices as both a Super Hero and a father.  He struggles to get his balance between his home life and his responsibilities as Ant-Man. He is confronted by Hope van Dyne (Lilly) and Dr. Hank Pym (Douglas) that involves an urgent new mission. Scott must put on the suit again and learn to fight alongside The Wasp while the team works together to uncover secrets from their past.

DISNEY’S CHRISTOPHER ROBIN– August 3, 2018 – (Walt Disney Studios) This heartwarming live action adventure “Disney’s Christopher Robin,” features the young boy who loved taking on adventures in the Hundred Acre Wood with his loveable stuffed animals, has grown up and lost his way. Now his childhood friends have to come into our world and help Christopher Robin remember the loving and playful boy who is still inside.

THE NUTCRACKER AND THE FOUR REALMS- November 2, 2018 (Walt Disney Studios) All Clara (Mackenzie Foy) wants is a key – a one-of-a-kind key that will unlock a box that holds a priceless gift of a golden thread that was to her at her godfather Drosselmeyer’s (Morgan Freeman) annual holiday party. The Golden Thread leads her to the coveted key which promptly disappears into a strange and mysterious parallel world. There Clara encounters a soldier named Phillip (Jayden Fowora-Knight), a gang of mice and the regents who preside over three Realms: Land of Snowflakes, Land of Flowers and Land of Sweets. Clara and Phillip must confront the ominous Fourth Realm, which is home to the tyrant Mother Ginger (Helen Mirren), to retrieve Clara’s key in order to return harmony to the unstable world.

RALPH BREAKS THE INTERNET: WRECK-IT RALPH 2 –November 21, 2018 –  (Walt Disney Animation Studios) “Ralph Breaks the Internet: Wreck-It Ralph 2” leaves the video arcade behind and take off to venture into the uncharted, expansive and thrilling world of the internet. The video game bad guy Ralph (voice of John C. Reilly) and fellow misfit Vanellope von Schweetz (voice of Sarah Silverman) must risk it all by traveling to the world wide web to find of a replacement part to save Vanellope’s video game, Sugar Rush. Soon they are way over their heads. Ralph and Vanellope rely on the citizens of the internet—the netizens—to help navigate their way, including a webite entrepreneur named Yesss (voice of Taraji P. Henson), who is the head algorithm and the heart and soul of trend-making site “BuzzzTube.”

MARY POPPINS RETURNS- December 25, 2018 – (Walt Disney Studios) Mary Poppins Returns in the all new sequel with a fresh sensibility that celebrates the spirit of the original, Mary Poppins is back to help the next generation of the Banks family find the joy and wonder missing in their lives. Emily Blunt (“The Girl on the Train,” “Into the Woods”) is the practically-perfect nanny who has a unique magical skills that can turn any task into an unforgettable, fantastic adventure and Lin-Manuel Miranda (“Hamilton,” “Moana”) plays her friend Jack, an optimistic street lamplighter who helps bring light—and life—to the streets of London.

“Mary Poppins Returns” is drawn from the wealth of material in the additional books of Mary Poppins. In 1930s Depression-era London, Mary Poppins Returns takes place 24 years after the original film was set. Michael Banks works for the same financial institution that employed his father and still lives at 17 Cherry Tree Lane with his three children, Annabel, John and Georgie and their housekeeper Ellen. Jane Banks is carrying on her mother’s tradition and campaigns for workers’ rights and provides a helping hand to Michael’s family. Mary Poppins magically comes back into their lives after the family suffers a personal loss. With Jack’s help, Mary Poppins brings joy and wonder back into their home.
