3 Ways to Help End Child Hunger

What did your family have for dinner last night? Did everyone go to bed with full bellies? I am very blessed. My son never had to go to bed hungry, wake up hungry, or watch me torment over where the next meal was going to come from. As a Mom, it’s hard to imagine how terrible a feeling that must be to know that your children aren’t getting proper nutrition. It’s just not right, and we all need to do our part to help end child hunger. It is a much bigger problem than you might realize. I have partnered with ConAgra, P&G and The Motherhood for this sponsored post to help spread the word about the Child Hunger Ends Here campaign.

More than one in five children in the U.S., including more than one in four Latino children, may not know where their next meal is coming from. That’s nearly 16 million children, a number that could fill 8,000 playgrounds. Children who experience even intermittent struggles with hunger may suffer serious, long-term consequences to their health, well-being and educational achievement.

3 Simple Ways to Help End Child Hunger

1. Hunter Hayes Road Race – Along with his “We’re Not Invisible” tour sponsor, ConAgra Foods, Hunter Hayes is going to attempt to break the world record for performing in the most cities in a 24 hour period. His goal is to perform 10 shows in 10 cities, from May 9 to May 10.

While Hunter is performing, you can help break another record. Child Hunger Ends Here is issuing a challenge to break their own record for the most meals donated in 24 hours. To help them break this record and end child hunger, look for the red pushpins and locate the code found on specially marked ConAgra Foods products. For each 8-digit code entered at www.ChildHungerEndsHere.com, ConAgra Foods will donate the monetary equivalent of one meal to Feeding America.

Additionally, for every download of Hunter’s new single, “Invisible,” on iTunes, Child Hunger Ends Here will donate the monetary equivalent of one meal to the nation’s leading hunger-relief charity, Feeding America, up to 1 million meals.
