It’s challenging to eat healthy when you’re on a time crunch. Whether you work in an office or are a busy stay at home mom, lunchtime can be quite hectic. In the past I’ve been very guilty of running through the fast food drive through or passing off a bag of chips as lunch, but I have been trying really hard to eat healthier. Barilla Microwaveable Meals are a natural approach to lunch. Natural you ask? That’s right, Barilla Microwaveable Meals are made of 100% natural ingredients.
Barilla Microwaveable Meals
Available in 5 delicious varieties:
- Traditional
- Penne with Tomato & Basil
- Whole Grain Fusilli
- Spicy Marinara Sauce
- Whole Grain Mezze penne
When you have a 30 minute lunch break, a microwave meal that takes 6 minutes to cook isn’t very practical. Barilla Microwaveable Meals only take 60 seconds to heat up! Inside the container, the sauce is heated separate from the pasta which results in perfectly al dente pasta. I can’t stand some of those other microwave pasta meals that come out with mushy noodles.
No Preservatives
Barilla Microwave Meals don’t have to be refrigerated, making them super convenient on-the-go. When I worked in an office I always liked to have a stash of microwaveable foods in my desk drawer for days that I didn’t have time to pack a lunch in the morning. At that time there wasn’t a lot of variety for foods that didn’t require refrigeration. I sure wish these Barilla Microwaveable Meals had been around back then.
I really like that 2 whole grain options are available. As I get older, I find that my diet requires more and more fiber and whole grain pasta is a big help. While I enjoyed all of the varieties I tried, the Spicy Marinara Sauce is my favorite. It has just the right amount of kick!
Barilla’s new microwaveable meals are super convenient and tasty. Now that I know how much I like them, I’ll probably always keep a few in the pantry for those times when we need a quick meal. The kids really like them too. Sometimes they are really hungry after school and these are great for holding them over until after cheer practice. Although I don’t let the girls prepare it by themselves, as the plastic seal can be a little tricky to remove.
