If you are shopping for a new laptop or PC for your family, I think the Acer Chromebook 15 deserves consideration. Whether you are looking for a student laptop, a lightweight computer to travel with or just a nice laptop to use around the house, Acer’s newest model might be just what you need. My family has been using the Acer Chromebook 15 for a few months now. Sample provided by Acer.
Here are a few of the things I really like about this device, and why I think it is ideal for family sharing:
- Larger display
- Ideal for family sharing
- Unbelievable battery life
Larger display
The most unique thing about the Acer Chromebook 15 is it the 15.6-in display. That is 27% larger than the 13.3 inch Chromebooks on the market. Acer is the only Chromebook to have this size screen. I personally struggle with 11 to 13 inch screens, so the larger 15.6 inch display is a welcome sight. Plus, watching media is just more fun on a bigger screen. It’s also a touch-screen which is another nice perk.
Ideal for family sharing
Chromebooks, in general, are ideal for sharing by multiple people, such as a family, school or for business. Multiple users are able to log in and check email, use Google docs, access their website bookmarks and other things on the web. Family members can share the system and log onto their unique accounts to ensure privacy.
There is also storage with Google Drive that protects files, documents and photos. Wherever you log on, the files are the most current version. Even if the computer is lost or stolen, you are able to access the files anywhere. Plus, Acer Chromebook 15 users can view, edit, create and collaborate on-line and off-line with a growing number of programs, such as Microsoft Office documents and Gmail.
Long-lasting battery life
With up to 12 hours of batatery life, this Chromebook also supports Android Apps right out the box. Acer Chromebook 15 users can view, edit, create and collaborate on-line and off-line with a growing number of programs, such as Microsoft Office documents and Gmail. Its sleek aluminum body is thinner and lighter than the early generations. There are even 2 USB ports to connect your devices. The Chromebook should be at the top of your list for just about anyone.
Additional perks
Another nice touch worth mentioning is the aluminum on the palm rest and top outer shell, giving this Chromebook a thinner design and classier look. This larger Chromebook has more ports, something lacking in the smaller versions. Acer Chromebook 15 comes with a USB-C and USB-3 port on each side, along with a headphone jack and MicroSD slot.
This small but mighty computer has 4GB of memory and 32 GB of internal storage and runs in an Intel Pentium processor. Overall, I’ve been very happy with the Acer Chromebook 15, although it is my 9-year old who calls dibs on it most of the time.

This is a great computer! My kids all use Chromebooks at school and it is so nice for them to be able to log into their school accounts at home since we got our own Chromebook. I love the long battery life too!
This looks like a greta notebook to have for the kiddos. And it isn;t too expensive so that makes it a win-win!
Sounds like a great affordable option for the family. Everyone needs a computer in their home these days.
I’ve considered these before for my 8 year old. She is always trying to use our laptops when we’re trying to work. Lol
I didn’t realize they supported android apps. That’s definitely a bonus
This would be great for my son and grandsons to use. I will have to look into this.
