Did you know that Avocados are a fruit? I was surprised to learn that! As a powerful member of the fruit and vegetable food group, avocados have the vitamins and nutrients essential for child development and growth. Just 3 slices of this creamy green fruit packs potassium, fiber, folate, vitamin C, E and those B-complex vitamins that support memory and brain function, making this a great addition to your kid’s diet. It’s even great to feed to your baby! If your children don’t already love avocados, the Avocados from Mexico Mini Chef Video Contest is a great way to introduce your kids to them!

Avocados from Mexico is hosting a video contest for parents of children ages 5-15, starting on November 14th. All you have to do to enter is submit a 1-3 minute video of your child/children preparing an avocado dish. Get creative with your recipes! Make sure you have them include why they love avocados and the catchy Avocados from Mexico jingle found on their website. All videos will be judged based on the presence of avocado and the mini chef’s personality.

The Prizes

One grand prize winner gets $1,000 in cash plus an HD Camcorder (for future home videos!), a Nintendo 3D, 2 games and a personalized Mini Chef jacket. Nine runners up win big too with an HD Camcorder, a Nintendo 3D and a personalized Mini Chef jacket.
