With the Oscar award show coming up soon, I thought a post about award show party food would be appropriate. It’s always fun to have a movie night at home with friends and family. Since the Oscar show is kind of the ultimate movie night occasion, I figured I’d roll out the red carpet myself and create some real show stopping recipes. This award show party features two of my favorite things – Wholly Guacamole and Daily’s Cocktails. For family movie night, I made my friends and family some guacamole sliders and tropical chicken nachos. Yummy!
The foods I made were simple to put together thanks to the star ingredients from Wholly Guacamole. Here are my recipes…
Guacamole Sliders
Guacamole Sliders Ingredients:
1 1/2 pound ground beef
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1 small tomato, thinly sliced
1 (7 ounce) package Wholly Guacamole, any variety
grated Cheddar cheese
rolls or small buns for sliders
Combine ground beef with salt and pepper. Shape into 10 patties of equal size. Place patties in a grill pan or on a grill over medium heat. Grill 3 minutes on each side or until desired degree of doneness.
Serve topped with Wholly Guacamole, sliced tomato, and grated Cheddar cheese.
Tropical Chicken Nachos
Tropical Chicken Nachos Ingredients:
tortilla chips, approximately 1/2 of 12 oz bag
2 cooked skinless, boneless chicken breasts – shredded or chopped
1 8 ounce package shredded Cheddar or Mexican cheese blend
1 (10 ounce) container Red Pepper Mango Wholly Salsa
Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Spread a thin layer of tortilla chips in a 9×13 or equivalent baking dish.
Sprinkle chips with chicken and shredded. Spoon Wholly Salsa over the nachos.
Bake for 15 to 20 minutes, until cheese is melted and heated through.
Award Show Party Food
My family recently had the chance to try some Wholly Guacamole products and it was a real treat for us. We’ve enjoyed the Wholly Guacamole in the Classic, Home Style, and Spicy varieties. They are all delicious, but the Home Style is our favorite with bits chunks of tomato, onion, and peppers throughout. It has a slight amount of heat that makes it perfect, but not overpowering.
I could eat chips and salsa every day of the week. The Red Pepper Mango Wholly Salsa that I used in my Nachos recipe is probably the best sweet salsa I’ve ever tried. If you’re more of a traditionalist, you’ll love the Wholly Salsa in the Classic Medium. It’s equally yummy! If you like to change things up a bit… Guacamole and Spicy Pico Wholly Salsa gives you the best of both worlds with a combination of fresh guacamole and salsa.

No award show party would be complete without refreshing beverages for the adults! I’m such a huge fan of Daily’s Cocktails. The Original Margarita rivals those I’ve had in restaurants, and the Pomegranate Acai Margarita is probably my favorite. I love the convenience of the frozen pouches.
