Today I’m sharing everything you need to know about back to school shopping at Disney Springs. This post is sponsored by Disney. However, all opinions are my own.
The first day of school is later this week here in Polk County, Florida. It’s a bittersweet time, with summer coming to an end. These last couple of weeks my 8-year old and I have been squeezing in that last little bit of summer fun, and shopping for school supplies. Some new clothes were an absolute must, since she has shot up to a size 10/12 over summer break. Last week we made the short drive over to Orlando, and spent a couple of nights at the Disney Beach Club Resort. This was the second time I have stayed there, and it is absolutely one of my favorite Disney resorts. While in Orlando, we spent an afternoon at Typhoon Lagoon which was so much FUN. An entire day was spent doing some back to school shopping at Disney Springs. We found some fantastic items that will make the upcoming school year magical!
Back to School Shopping at Disney Springs
At Disney Springs you will find all of your back to school staples, along with a large selection of kids’ clothing and accessories. If you’re looking for the perfect backpack, be sure to check out CURL by Sammy Duvall, Kipling, and Vera Bradley. We also spotted some fun backpacks in World of Disney, featuring your favorite Disney characters.
T’s pencil case will be filled with a bit of Disney magic this school year. At World of Disney we picked up an assortment of pens and pencils. There are so many fun ones to choose from. T had to have a Stitch backpack pal. Last school year, she had half a dozen different Disney characters hanging from her backpack. I have a feeling that number is going to double this year.
We got T some new sandals at Sanuk Footwear. I bought a pair for myself the last time we were at Disney Springs, and she has been begging me to get her a pair too. You can also find back to school shoes at UGG, Sperry, Fit2Run, and Melissa Shoes.
Columbia Sportswear had the some lightweight jackets for Fall. We picked up a nice lightweight, waterproof hooded jacket that will come in handy here in Florida with all of the afternoon showers we get.
Disney Springs has so many great shops for back to school clothing. We found the perfect fitting jeans at Levi’s. Also, some t-shirts at World of Disney and UNIQLO. We stocked up on mismatched socks at Little Miss Matched. I’ve never seen T get so excited about socks before. I don’t think she will ever wear matching socks again.
T got her first Alex and Ani bracelet at Disney Springs. She already has her next 3 bangles picked out. What was I thinking? I guess I’m not the only one in the family who loves the Alex and Ani Disney Collection. I “might” have bought one for myself too, while we were there.
Don’t forget that if you’re a Disney annual pass holder, many of the Disney Springs merchants will give you a discount! I saved a ton of money with that discount!
Dining and Entertainment at Disney Springs
I don’t know about you, but shopping makes me very hungry. We popped into Chef Art Smith’s Homecomin’ for lunch and what a treat that turned out to be. I love that more than 50% of the ingredients used at this restaurant are locally sourced. I had the fried chicken chopped salad which came with the most delicious house dressing. T go the kid’s cheeseburger with macaroni & cheese, and grilled zucchini. I tried T’s burger when she told me it was the best she has ever had, and it was AMAZING. Seriously, I cannot wait to go back soon and order my own burger. I called my sister right away and we’ve already made lunch plans.
Plan to make a whole day of it when you visit Disney Springs. There are so many wonderful dining and entertainment options available. We caught Cirque du Soleil’s La Nouba show while we were there. Can you believe La Nouba is closing at year’s end? It’s the most incredible show, so catch it if you can before it is gone.
Our fun day of back to school shopping at Disney Springs ended with dinner and bowling at Splitsville Luxury Lanes. We had an absolute blast.
If you haven’t been to Disney Springs recently, you absolutely must go. It has grown so much these last few years with shopping, dining and entertainment that will keep you busy for days.
