I am so in love with the Bad Moms movies. Between Bad Moms and Bad Moms Christmas, I love how these movies are giving moms the push to have their own time. A way to let loose and remember that there is more to themselves than just being a mom. We deserve to go out with our friends. We deserve to have our own time. And we do not have to be perfect. That isn’t what motherhood is supposed to be about.
Christmas is supposed to be an exciting time of year. It is supposed to be full of love, enjoyment and family time. Sadly, for Moms, it is often just the opposite. Moms are so busy trying to make the perfect Christmas for everyone else, they are left stressed and overwhelmed. Definitely a joyful time.
The moms of Bad Moms Christmas decide to do Christmas “Bad Moms Style” and take back the holiday. As they throw off what is expected of them and in exchange start to actually enjoy the holiday, the good times roll.
Unfortunately, with the holidays come other family obligations, and Bad Moms Christmas is no different there. When family comes to town, the moms of the Amy (Mila Kunis), Kiki (Kristen Bell), and Carla (Kathryn Hahn) put a twist on Christmas. The moms are all polar opposites. Amy’s mom (Christine Baranski) is extremely critical of everything Amy does or doesn’t do. She is the overachiever and does everything over the top.
Kiki’s mom (Cheryl Hines) is the mom who never learned to let go and still sees Kiki and her little baby.
Carla’s mom, (Susan Sarandon) is just like her but even a little more extreme. She is rock and roll and never settles down.
Bad Moms Christmas opens with Amy sitting on her steps looking around at her house in a disaster zone. She feels like she has ruined Christmas. Then she goes on to tell how it happened and how she has gotten to this point. It is a story that a lot of moms can relate to. As it gets closer to Christmas, things get even more frantic between the moms and their daughters. But it results in hysterics for the viewers.
I have to say, the only other time I have laughed this hard at a movie is the original Bad Moms movie. From within in the first few minutes to the end credits, I barely stopped laughing. There are some truly touching moments too. As the moms and daughter reconnect, it will make you want to hug your own mom.
I had such a lovely surprise when I arrived at the hotel before going to the prescreening and interviews with the cast. A bottle of Jim Bean Vanilla, you know, so I can party like a mother. With the bottle came a cocktail recipe. It is a signature cocktail from Mila Kunis herself.

I hadn’t heard of these movies, but I’m all in favor of moms taking time for themselves. If that means an occasional drink, so be it. The recipe here looks absolutely delicious and perfect for social occasions.
A friend went to the pre-screening and she said it was hilarious. I hope it’s as good as the first one. I really enjoyed watching it. Moms can really relate to this stuff!
That cocktail looks really good. We have never been the cocktail type, we are usually a wine or beer couple here but I love the looks of this cocktail. I need to try making this, let’s hope I can do it and make it turn out like yours, it looks so good!
