Bean bags are one of my favorite things to have around the house. They are so comfortable and perfect for relaxing in while watching t.v or a movie. But have you ever thought of having a bean bag for your baby or developing toddler? The BayB Brand offers a variety of bean bags for babies and toddlers that are just as comfortable as adult bean bags. I received a BayB Brand bean bag for reviewing purposes and all opinions express are my own.
I used a bouncer when Zach was a baby and would set him inside while I was doing chores around the house or even when he napped sometimes. But I never thought about getting him a bean bag! It would’ve been so much more comfortable for him. We received a blue bean bag from BayB Brand and I love the polka dots on the bottom half, it’s visually pleasing. The top half is very soft and includes a harness made out of a soft material, not like a standard harness which can be a bit uncomfortable. That said, because the harness is so soft, it’s also a bit flimsy, but we made it work.
My niece is a crawler so typically she doesn’t like being placed in the bean bag while she’s awake because she tries to escape so she can explore the floor plans of the house. However she does love taking her naps in the bean bag and what I love about it is that the harness keeps her in place during naps. The outer shell easily zips off and wipes clean in case of any accidents and it is even machine-washable as well. I would even go so far as to keep the outer shell unzipped for older toddlers who don’t need the harness. Zach likes using it as a chair in that setting, very cozy.
The BayB Brand bean bag is portable for overnight trips and takes up very little space around my house. I set it in our living room and when my niece is going to have her nap, I place it in her designated napping room and she is ready for peace and quiet slumber. The bean bag came already filled and ready to use, so I didn’t have to worry about filling it with anything. The bean bag is secure enough so that no beans escape, and I went through the various zippers to double check! It gives me a peace of mind knowing that my child can’t accidentally choke on the beans inside because of how secure these bean bags are, not to mention double stitched!
The great thing about these bean bags are that they can prevent the development of a flat head and also relieve acid reflux and gas in newborns. Because they are so soft, the bean bags take the shape of the baby’s head, instead of putting a flat pressure on it like a bouncer would, so I can see how it would work in that way.
I would recommend the BayB Brand bean bags for babies that haven’t reached that anxious crawling phase yet, or if you’re baby likes to lay down during the day and just “hang out”, this would be a great product for that in place of a bouncer. My niece is quite squirmy, so when she’s awake she tries to escape it. We love it more during nap time and I would even keep it for when she grows out of the harness in her toddler years.
