Last June I had the pleasure of spending 10 days in Italy, soaking in the culture, history and authentic Italian meals. It was an incredible experience that left me craving more. I’ve taken elements of that trip and have incorporated them into my life at home, especially when it comes to mealtime.
Family mealtime is so important to me. However, I don’t typically have a lot of time to fuss in the kitchen on busy weeknights. This is how I “Mangia Like an Italian” and get an Italian feast onto the table in just 15 minutes.
Seriously, just 15 minutes.
According to a recent Italian/American survey, eighty-four percent of Italians eat at the table with family, and 70 percent of Italians eat family-style, compared to 31 percent of Americans who eat family style.
This year, Bertolli is encouraging people to live Mangia and eat like Italians do.
Sounds good to me.
Doesn’t that look so good? Feeling hungry yet?
Bertolli Italian meals are crafted from authentic recipes and ingredients – just like those made in an Italian kitchen.
The Chicken Florentine & Farfalle is so delish. It tastes just like homemade. Maybe better. Your kids won’t even notice that they are eating spinach.
Bertolli pasta is made from 100% of the highest quality wheat pasta flour. Bertolli chefs developed the ideal pasta cooking time, so every bite has an authentic, al dente texture.
One of the things I really enjoyed while in Europe were the sauces. I’ve had dreams about those sauces.
I’m not kidding.
The sauce in the Bertolli Chicken Marsala & Roasted Red Skin Potatoes is incredible. Be sure you have a hunk of Italian bread ready to sop it all up. Slurp.
The sauces in Bertolli’s frozen meals are created by sautéing garlic and wine, caramelizing onions and then adding lightly crushed tomatoes to slowly simmer for up to two hours for a concentrated and fully developed final product.
Getting an Italian feast onto the table in 15 minutes is easy.
While your Bertolli’s frozen meals are heating up in a saucepan, you can make a salad. My family loves a simple Caprese salad. Add a loaf of Italian bread and dinner is served.
Your family will thank you.
And, don’t forget a glass of wine for you, mom.
You deserve it.
Francesco Bertolli wanted to provide more than mere ingredients for meals. He sought to provide ingredients for robust meal experiences that awaken the senses, enliven conversations, and inspire us to be in the moment. He definitely achieved that.
