Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles hits theaters on August 8 - See the Official Movie Trailer

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie hits theaters on August 8th, and when asked to share the “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” movie trailer on the blog there was no hesitation in my response. I don’t think my son would ever forgive me if I passed on an opportunity to write about his beloved turtles. As a boy who grew up in the late 80’s and 90’s watching the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles animated series, my son was fully immersed in all things TMNT.

Thanks to the turtles words like Cowabunga, Bodacious, Gnarly and Radical all became a part of my son’s vocabulary at an early age.

I didn’t mind my son’s obsession with the turtles, Michaelangelo in particular. They are the good guys after all. I hope I don’t embarrass my son by saying this, but he still has a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle ornament that has to be displayed prominently on the Christmas tree every year.

If you are not already familiar with the teenage mutant ninja turtles, four teenage turtles – Michelangelo, Raphael, Leonardo, and Donatello mutated into ninjas after prolonged exposure to radiation. Ever since they have been living in the city sewers with their ninja master Splinter (a rat) and reporter friend, April – saving the city from the likes of the evil warlord Shredder. Like most teenagers, the turtles like eating pizza (lots of it) and enjoy skateboarding. These typical teenage traits are part of the turtles’ appeal.

Movie Synposis: The city needs heroes. Darkness has settled over New York City as Shredder and his evil Foot Clan have an iron grip on everything from the police to the politicians. The future is grim until four unlikely outcast brothers rise from the sewers and discover their destiny as Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. The Turtles must work with fearless reporter April O’Neil (Megan Fox) and her wise-cracking cameraman Vern Fenwick (Will Arnett) to save the city and unravel Shredder’s diabolical plan. Based on the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Characters Created by PETER LAIRD and KEVIN EASTMAN with a Screenplay by JOSH APPELBAUM & ANDRÉ NEMEC and EVAN DAUGHERTY, Producer MICHAEL BAY (the blockbuster Transformers franchise) and director JONATHAN LIEBESMAN (Wrath of the Titans) bring Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, the popular franchise that has captivated audiences of all ages for decades, into the 21st century.

The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles have such wide appeal. Young people in their twenties like my son and his friends are so excited about the upcoming movie. Then you the younger generations of TMNT fans and their parents who are looking forward to the movie, as well. I’ll be very surprised if “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” isn’t the biggest movie blockbuster of the summer.

I was reading that the famous TMNT “Cowabunga” isn’t spoken in the new movie, but a new word “Booyakasha” makes an appearance. I am curious to hear what my son and his friends think about this change. I’m sure my younger nieces and nephews won’t even notice the difference. I’m really looking forward to heading to the theater with them all on the weekend of August 8th to see the movie!
