Candy Corn Marshmallow Pops

The last few days I have begun making goodies for our upcoming Halloween party. I must admit that I was considering making some cake pops this afternoon, but decided that I wanted something that required minimal effort. Candy Corn Marshmallow Pops turned out to be just the thing. They were pretty simple to make and turned out sooo stinkin’ cute… If I might say so myself!

Candy Corn Marshmallow Pops - About A Mom

Yesterday I dropped a small fortune at Michael’s. While I was there I picked up some orange and yellow Wilton Candy Melts, amongst a lot of other stuff that I just knew I would find a purpose for. You know…it was one of those trips where I went into the store totally unprepared, no list in hand, and walked out with anything and everything I could possible need for Halloween.

Now the true test…

Time to figure out what I am going to do with all of this stuff. I think I’m off to a pretty good start with these Candy Corn Marshmallow Pops. We’ll be serving them at a Halloween party, but they would be the perfect treat to hand out to your child’s classmates.

Here’s What You’ll Need

1 bag of marshmallows
1 bag yellow Wilton Candy Melts
1 bag orange Wilton Candy Melts
2 – 3 tablespoons shortening (optional – to thin candy melts)
lollipop sticks (50 count bag should do)
clear plastic treat bags
ribbon

Marshmallow Pops

Poke a lollipop stick into the bottom of each marshmallow.

Melt orange candy melts along with 1 – 2 tablespoons of shortening. Dip each marshmallow 2/3 of the way up into the orange. Place each pop onto a parchment lined cookie sheet and cool in refrigerator for about 20 minutes, or until hardened.

Melt 1/2 bag of yellow candy melts, along with 1 tablespoon shortening. Dip each pop into the yellow, about 1/3 way up. Place onto parchment lined cookie sheet and allow to cool completely in refrigerator.
