It’s almost unimaginable to thing that children are going to bed hungry in our society. In fact, nearly 16 million children, enough to fill 8,000 playgrounds are going hungry and being robbed of the promise of childhood. Children who experience even intermittent struggles with hunger may suffer serious, long-term consequences to their health, well-being and educational achievement. In communities like mine there are food banks, school lunch and backpack programs, and summer food programs. But it’s still not enough and some children fall through the cracks or the need is simply just too great for the programs in place.
My heart breaks just thinking about this and I’m sure yours does too. Can you imagine if it were your child who is a one in five statistic? We need to join forces and support efforts to end child hunger. I have partnered with ConAgra, P&G and The Motherhood for this sponsored post to help spread the word about the Child Hunger Ends Here Campaign.
ConAgra has teamed up with P&G to bring awareness to child hunger through the Child Hunger Ends Here Campaign. They are working to build a community of people, like you and me, who will work together to make a difference and donate 7 million meals through the Child Hunger Ends Here Campaign. Yes, that’s a lofty goal, but when we work together, great things can happen.
It’s simple to make a difference! When you are at the grocery store, look for the red pushpin and locate the code found on specially marked ConAgra Foods and P&G products. For each 8-digit code entered at www.ChildHungerEndsHere.com from March-August 2014, ConAgra Foods or P&G, respectively, will donate the monetary equivalent of one meal to Feeding America. You can even enter your 8-digit codes via the widget on the right sidebar of this blog.
All codes entered through August 2014 will help feed a hungry child.
