Having the proper tools to prepare home cooked meals for your family is one of those things that we sometimes take for granted. Until that very special birthday cake comes out burnt on the top and gooey in the middle, or when you can read the first three chapters of a new book in the time it takes to bring a pot of water to boil. Having an appliance you can count on to get the job done is important, and even better when you have an appliance like the new Samsung Flex Duo™ Slide-In Electric Range with Dual Door and WiFi Connectivity.
This oven has so many smart features that will make you more efficient in the kitchen, meaning more time for you to spend doing the things you love. My old oven had become so unreliable. It was burning everything, so I jumped at the chance to check out one of the new smart Samsung appliances from Best Buy. I’m actually excited about cooking again. Dishes like Caprese Chicken. Be sure to grab the recipe at the bottom of this post!
Check out some of the things I like about the Samsung Flex Duo™ Slide-In Electric Range with Dual Door and WiFi Connectivity:
The Flex Duo Oven (With Dual Door)
I’ll start with the dual oven, because it’s my favorite feature. This oven includes two independent temperature controls and convection systems that are separated by a removable Smart Divider. You can choose between the upper or lower oven, or can choose to use the whole oven.
If you want to open just the upper oven, you simply have to squeeze a lever when you pull open the oven door. If you’re just heating a small dish or something like garlic bread, you don’t have to heat up the whole oven. You can even cook multiple dishes simultaneously. It is so incredibly functional. Love this!
Flexible Cooktop
This is the first time I have owned a range with a glass cooktop, and I’m already a fan after just a couple of weeks. Gone are the days of scrubbing drip pans. My mom used to cover them with aluminum foil. I’m so glad for something better. Cleanup is an absolute breeze.
The flexible cooktop on the Samsung Flex Duo™ Slide-In Electric Range has a whopping 5 electric elements. There’s one triple burner measuring (6″/9″/12″), two bridged (7″) burners, one single burner (6″), and a (7″) warming center. For the most efficient cooking, you always want to fit the pan size to the element size. This is easy to do with so the flexible cooktop.
The radiant surface elements glow red when they are hot, and there is also a surface indicator that comes on when the unit is turned on or hot to the touch. The light from the blue illuminated LED Knobs can be seen from a distance, and is a great safety feature. Since I’m talking about safety, I should also mention that this oven has a child safety lock.
The control knobs are easy to understand. I got a great efficiency tip from the User Manual. It said that for efficient cooking, you should turn off the element several minutes before cooking is complete. This will allow residual heat to complete the cooking process.
I’m in love with the warming center, located on the back center of the cooktop. If one of your dishes is ready before the others, you can use it to keep hot, cooked food at serving temperature. Everything about this oven is so smart!
The oven even comes with a built in thermometer to measure the internal temperature of your meals and when reached it automatically switches to a mode to keep the dish warm. The electric ranges also have warming drawers.
WiFi Connectivity
With the Samsung Smart Home App, you can connect this oven range to the Wi-Fi in your home. With the electric ranges, you can use your smart phone to turn the oven on and off, adjust the cooktime, and monitor your cooktop to see if you left a burner on. The WiFi connectivity and Samsung Smart Home App cater perfectly to this tech obsessed foodie. Cooking has never been smarter.
The attractive stainless steel design makes this oven easy to clean, along with the self cleaning oven feature. What more could a girl want?
Want the recipe for the Caprese Chicken you saw cooking on my new glass cooktop? It’s a fabulously delicious 30-minute meal you can make on your stovetop.
30-Minute Skillet Caprese Chicken
Ingredients:
3 boneless skinless chicken breasts
Salt & pepper to taste
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
2 tablespoons olive oil, divided
3 garlic cloves, minced
1 pint cherry tomatoes
10 large fresh basil leaves, chopped
3 thick slices buffalo mozzarella cheese
Balsamic vinegar, to taste
Sprinkle both sides of chicken breasts with salt, pepper and Italian seasoning. Set aside.
In a large saute pan over medium-high heat, warm 1 tablespoon of the olive oil. Add chicken, cover pan, and cook for about 10 minutes. Flip chicken breasts and continue cooking until the chicken is cooked through.
While chicken is cooking, in a medium saute pan over medium-high heat, warm remaining 1 tablespoon olive oil. Add garlic and cook for about 1 minute, or until fragrant. Add halved tomatoes and continue to cook until tomatoes skin starts to wrinkle, about 5 minutes. Remove from heat and stir in basil. Set aside.
Once the chicken has reached desired doneness, place a piece of mozzarella on top of each chicken breast. Pour tomato mixture on top. Cover pan with lid once more and let the mozzarella melt, about 1-2 minutes.
