I first purchased a couple of these Disney movies on VHS many years ago and now own them all on DVD. My family has since upgraded our home entertainment system and look forward to adding more Disney Blu-ray movies to our collection. There were 5 iconic Disney animated movies newly released to Blu-ray on August 21, 2012.

Pocahontas and Pocahontas II: Journey to a New World
This HD release is the first time that “Pocahontas” and “Pocahontas II: Journey to a New World” have been sold in a 2-disc combo pack. “Pocahantas” is a timeless stories of hope, courage and friendship. The Blu-ray debut features exciting all-new bonus material including “Drawing Inspiration: The Lost Story of Hiawatha,” a fascinating behind-the-scenes featurette showcasing how Walt Disney and his team were once developing a full-length animated feature called “Hiawatha,” that ultimately directly influenced the development of “Pocahontas.”
“Pocahontas” won Academy Awards® for both “Best Original Score” and “Best Song – “Colors of the Wind” 1995. The film also earned a Grammy Award® for “Best Song” (“Colors of the Wind,” 1996).

The Aristocats – Special Edition

I don’t have a BluRay player {yet}, but I absolutely adore those movies! My daughter and I love watching The Aristocats, especially. She loves the “Everybody Wants to Be A Cat” tune.
That’s awesome that they have these on Blu-Ray now. I loved The Rescuers Down Under when I was a kid! I’d definitely pick that one up for my girls to watch (and so I can re-watch it). 😉

Disney movies have the best upgraded quality when viewed on Blu-Ray, it’s the way the were meant to be seen!
