Fall is upon us and that means…apple season!  Picking apples, baking apples, and biting into the juiciest, crunchiest apples is probably the most wonderful experience to usher in the start of fall!

Some of my most favorite memories from childhood are the smell of Grandma’s apple pie baking in the oven, beautiful fall leaves all around and the cooler temperatures on the horizon.  Can anybody else relate to this?

The beginning of fall and apple season is the perfect opportunity for crafting with the little ones!  Who doesn’t love an easy, do-it-yourself craft?

This DIY Apple Stamp Craft for Kids is sure to be a hit with your children and/or grandchildren.  It’s creative, simple and so much fun!

With just a toilet paper roll, some tape, a few painting supplies and you’ll be on your way to making wonderful apple season memories with your loved ones!

Apple Stamping fun!

Step #1

Take your empty toilet paper roll and a long piece of scotch tape and gently push in the center of the toilet paper roll and wrap the tape around it securing it’s new apple shape.  {Honestly, I think it more resembles a heart and that’s perfect if yours does because you will turn in into an apple with the next few steps!}

Step #2

Dab the end of your toilet paper roll into a generous amount of red washable paint and then stamp away like this…

Step #3

Using a paint brush and red paint, finish filling in your apple to complete your apple shape.

Step #4

I love this step!  My kids decided that we shouldn’t paint a boring ol’ leaf on their apple but rather they wanted to use their thumb print as their green leaf and I said…sure!  Dip just the tip of the thumb into green paint and create a thumb print leaf at the top of each apple.

Step #5

For the final step to this fun, DIY Apple Stamp Craft for Kids, is to make the stem.  Use a thin paint brush dipped in brown paint to make the stem of your apple.  {We even considered gluing a tiny stick from outside for our apple stems…wouldn’t that be a cool added touch?}

Here are some extension activities to fuel your creativity!  My kids created apples with “Back to School” signs, and apples falling from trees.  Lastly I thought it was so neat when my oldest son said, “Wouldn’t it be cool if there was such a thing as a volcano that exploded apples out of it?!”  Hence the apple volcano…
