Combat Spring Allergies with a Fellowes AeraMax Air Purifier

Fellowes AeraMax Air Purifier Review

It’s mid April and already there is a carpet of pollen outside. Usually by this time of the year, my eyes feel like they are filled with sand and my nose is running like a faucet. But despite having allergy symptoms, spring is still my favorite time of the year. I really enjoy the warmer weather, the blooming flowers, and the chirping birds.

Although I do have some noticeable allergy symptoms so far this spring, they don’t seem near as severe as in years past. I’m wondering if it has something to do with the air purifier I started using a few weeks ago. I was so thankful when Fellowes offered to let me do an AeroMax air purifier review, just in time for Spring allergy season.

Fellowes AeraMax Air Purifier Review

The Fellowes AeraMax Air Purifier is perfect for this time of year. As cold and flu season winds down and allergies and asthma season begins, it’s especially important to protect the air you breathe. On average, Americans spend 90 percent of their time indoors where the air is up to five times more polluted than it is outside. The Fellowes AeraMax Air Purifiers offer protection with a True HEPA filter (only True HEPA filters can safely remove 99.97 percent of airborne particles), independent certifications and state of the art technology.

Wile this air purifier isn’t going to remove air impurities from your entire house, the AeraMax DX55 Air Purifier will effectively purifies air in medium rooms up to 195 square feet. It’s perfect for keeping in my office, the room where I spend most of my time. At nights I bring it into my bedroom. Ideally, I would like to have another unit to keep in each room all the time. The size of the air purifier is 20.50 x 13.00 x 7.13 and can be placed on a large enough table or dresser, but I keep it on the floor. It nicely tucks away into a corner of the room and is light enough to pick up and move with ease.

Setting up and starting the Fellowes AeraMax DX55 Air Purifier is simple, and the filters are easily removed and replaced.

I am a light sleeper, so one of my concerns over bringing it into the bedroom was noise. But I am happy to report that most of the time the air purifier can’t be heard. The only time I have noticed a sound is periodically when the fan speed kicks up automatically, but it is not loud enough to disturb. This sometimes happens because the AeraSmart sensor monitors the air quality and automatically adjusts the fan speed to keep your air purified.

Since my daughter and one of my granddaughters has asthma, I was glad to learn that the Fellowes AeraMax DX55 is certified asthma & allergy friendlyâ„¢ by the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America.

Fellowes AeraMax DX55 air purifier uses a 4-stage purification system to remove airborne particles.

1. The carbon filter removes odors and captures large airborne particulates.

2. The True HEPA filter safely removes 99.97 percent of airborne particles as small as 0.3 microns, including pollen, ragweed and other allergens, viruses, germs, dust mites, mold spores, pet dander and cigarette smoke.

3. The AeraSafe antimicrobial treatment provides built-in protection from the growth of odor-causing bacteria, mildew, and fungi on the True HEPA filter.

4. PlasmaTRUE technology creates an ionized field to help safely remove airborne pollutants.

Have I ever mentioned how forgetful I am? I am thankful for the Filter Change Indicators that let me know when it is time to replace the Carbon or True HEPA filter. If you are energy conscious like me, you’ll be glad to learn that the Fellowes® AeraMaxâ„¢ DX55 Air Purifier is Energy Star-qualified, and is 40% more energy-efficient than non-qualifying models.

Having a clean home is so important to me but having clean air for my family to breathe in our home is even more important. I sometimes wonder if my house is some sort of dust magnet. It’s a never ending battle keeping my home dust free. Add to the mix two dogs and a high pollen count, I can only imagine how poor the air quality is in my house on any given day. My family has really enjoyed having the Fellowes AeraMax DX55 air purifier in our home, and it’s certainly going make spring allergy season a whole lot more bearable.

Learn more about this AeraMax air purifier from the Fellowes website. Many thanks to Fellowes for providing this air purifier at no cost to me, for my honest review.
