The recent Target security breach, during the holiday season, has many of us giving more thought to protecting ourselves against theft. From savvy internet hackers, to mail thieves, and the people who dig through trash heaps in hopes of snagging a bank or credit card statement, there is so much risk of identity theft. Thanks to the Fellowes Powershred 73Ci Shredder, I am feeling a little bit safer these days.
According to Javelin Strategy & Research, there was one incident of ID fraud every three seconds in 2012. The holiday season is an especially dangerous time of year for this crime as consumers are distracted and sharing their confidential information frequently, such as credit card numbers. It’s also the time of year when people are making changes to health insurance plans, and preparing for tax season. The opportunities for identity thieves are greater than any other time of the year.
Have you thought about giving the gift of security to someone you care about or maybe for yourself? I know you are probably thinking that you are gifted out after the Christmas holiday, but it’s never too late to give the gift of security and peace of mind. It’s a great way to start the new year!
Fellowes Powershred 73Ci Shredder
The stylish 73Ci is great for gadget lovers, because it features a sleek design and several advanced technologies such as:
⁃100% Jam Proof System that eliminates paper jams and powers through tough jobs

⁃A proprietary Energy Savings System that maximizes shredder energy savings 100% of the time – both in use and out of use
⁃Capacitive touch screen controls
⁃Heavy-duty Cross-Cut blades that destroy 12 sheets of paper into 397 particles per sheet, making it extremely difficult to reassemble
⁃The 73Ci is available at office superstores and their online counterparts for a suggested retail price of $199.99.
I love that this shredder is on castors and can easily be moved around my office or into another room of the house. Unlike shredders I have owned in the past, this one crunches up credit cards with ease and large stacks of paper at once. The bin holds a lot of shredded paper, so I don’t have to empty it very often and it easily pulls open from the front of the machine. My shredder has been used a lot these past few weeks, and it hasn’t jammed once.
This is the perfect gift to help someone start the new year off protected!
How will you and your loved ones be protect in the new year against identity theft?
I could use one of these. I have a HUGE box filled with mail that needs to be shredded!
This is the one thing my home office doesn’t have. We burn all of our papers, but it’s always smart to shred first. I need to remember to get one!
this would make a great gift for my mother in law!
I plan to be more careful when throwing out “junk mail”. I’d love to have this shredder. My landlord’s daughter was arrested for mail fraud, going in people’s mail boxes and stealing their mail. With people like that around who is safe?
this is the shredder we have – works great! I highly recommend it!
I have been wanting a shredder for many years. This one looks like it would do what I need it to do. I think we all need to be super careful about what we throw out.
I think a shredder is something every household needs.
Shredding things is such an easy way to protect our privacy from those who mean us harm. It is something we should all do on a regular basis.
I have a Fellowes shredder but I like yours better. I like that you can see how full it is from the outside.
We swear by our shredder, but this one looks amazing. Wonderful features and it looks pretty sturdy. Thanks for sharing.
