Celebrating the Little Things

It is so easy to get caught up in the day to day. Take time for celebrating the little things.

It is so easy to get caught up in the day to day. Before you know it weeks and months have gone by. I’m really trying to live more in the moment, and one of the ways I am doing that is by celebrating the little things. It’s important to take time and really enjoy life. Many thanks to Coca-Cola for sponsoring this post.

The first nine-week grading period of school has certainly zipped on by, and it has been an eventful one for my family. T started taking ballet lessons after school, and she’s been chosen for the school’s fourth and fifth grade show choir. Our afternoons have gotten a whole lot busier. Recently, we missed 7 days of school when Hurricane Irma came to town. While things have been hectic, we’ve had reason to pause and be thankful. T’s first report card of the school year was definitely something to celebrate. All of her grades were good this time around, and she got her highest grade ever in math. I let her choose a restaurant for our celebration.

Guess where we ended up? Five Guys is one of T’s favorites, and mine too. The burgers are AMAZING and it is just a mile down the road from our house. Needless to say, we end up there a lot when we want to dine out.

Nom. Nom. Nom.

A celebratory meal.

I take the absolute worst selfies. Seriously. The worst. But still, I think our happiness shines through.

Boiled peanuts and ice cold Gold Peak Tea. Normally I limit the amount of peanuts T eats while we are waiting for our food, but this was a special occasion.

Good stuff.

One of the things I like about going to Five Guys is the Gold Peak Tea. As a girl who has lived most of her life living somewhere in the south, I know my way around a glass of iced tea and Gold Peak Tea is some of the best. I love that you can find it in so many restaurants, including Outback, Red Robin, TGIFriday’s, Jack-in-the-Box, Carl’s JR and more. Look for it the next time you dine out!

It is even better when you add a messy Five Guys cheeseburger (all the way, of course) and add to that some hot, crispy fries. YUM.

I’m really proud of T and the effort she is putting into getting good grades this year. Her special meal was well deserved and she really enjoyed it. I have a feeling we have a whole lot more celebrating ahead of us.
