Gorton’s Seafood has a brand new line of 20 delicious seafood options that have 200 calories or less per serving. I was a bit skeptical when I first heard this, but I was asked me to check out the new Gorton’s Recipe Gallery and I quickly became a believer. I came across many yummy recipes like Skillet Crisp Tilapia with Sauteed Greens and Crispy Shrimp and Tacos.
Weeknights are pretty hectic at my house, so Gorton’s frozen fish products regularly find their way to my dinner table. I’ll admit that I don’t always keep the calorie count as low as I should, so I am glad to learn of Gorton’s under 200 calorie recipes. Eager to try some of the Gorton’s 20 under 200 products, I headed to the store and picked up a box of the Skillet Crisp Tilapia Garlic & Herb along with a box of Gorton’s Classic Grilled Shrimp. These were 2 Gorton’s products that I hadn’t tried before.
After looking at some of Gorton’s great recipes, I got inspired to create my own low calorie recipe using some ingredients I already had on hand. I had a couple of avocados that were in danger of getting too ripe, so I made a California style salad with shredded lettuce, tomatoes, avocado and olives. I topped the salad off with a simple lemon vinaigrette, and served it with Gorton’s Classic Grilled Shrimp. My quick fix and low calorie dinner featuring Gorton’s grilled shrimp was a huge success! My whole family enjoyed it, and is looking forward to trying more new Gorton’s products.
