Stress making you eat? See how I got stress eating under control with a few lifestyle changes, and healthy snacks from Weight Watchers.
I am a serious stress eater. I’ve always heard that moving is a major source of stress, and my recent move down to Florida put stress eating to the test. I was tired, stressed out, and making a lot of poor choices when it came to food. I was eating anything and everything I could get my hands on. Alas, things started to turn around about a week ago when I decided to take the necessary time to rest, relax and exercise.
Make yourself a priority.
I made myself important again. Unpacking those last few boxes could simply wait. Having healthy snacks on hand made a big difference too.
It’s been much too long since I lived in Florida, the place of my birth. I still have a lot of family here in Central Florida. While the circumstances surrounding my move weren’t ideal, it’s nice to be home. My family recently lost someone very dear, which resulted in my 7 year old niece needing a new home and guardian. I offered to be her legal guardian, and moved down here to keep her close to what is familiar. It’s been an emotional couple of months to say the least, but I am happy to be here and all is well.
One of the things I missed about living in Florida was having a Publix grocery store nearby. I can’t tell you how thrilled I was to discover there is a Publix just down the street. It’s the little things, y’all. Fortunately, Publix carries a lot of Weight Watchers snack products that have helped me keep my stress eating and my sweet tooth under control. They are a delicious and healthier snacking option.
Have plenty of healthy snacks on hand.
I have a couple of jars that I keep in the kitchen and on my desk. A large one is filled with Weight Watchers Triple Chocolate Brownie Bliss and Lemon Crème Snack Cake. Perfect for healthy snacking on-the-go.
When I’m craving a little something sweet I reach for the Weight Watchers Pecan Crowns and Mint Patties.
Yummo!
During the day, when I’m working and need a little something to hold me over between breakfast and lunch, I pop a bag of Healthy Pop Butter 100 Calorie popcorn. It’s a delicious low-calorie snack that’ll fill you up.
In addition to snacking better, I’ve managed to escape into a couple of trashy romance novels and have been taking the dog for extra long walks to get familiar with the new neighborhood. An earlier bedtime has been a big help too.
When combating stress eating, it’s also important to do what you can to alleviate stress. That means making yourself a priority. Get enough sleep. Exercise every day, even if it’s just a walk around the block with the dog or a few yoga stretches in the morning or afternoon. Remember to smile. Keep healthy snacks on hand. Drink plenty of water, and make sure you’re eating healthy foods at regular intervals.
We all have times in our lives that are more stressful than others. If you struggle with stress eating, I hope sharing my story and strategy has helped you in some way. I’d also l’d love to hear how you’ve been able to overcome stress eating. Please leave a comment below and share what has worked for you.

I used to stress eat all the time. Healthy snacks weren’t close by, so I ended up simply finding a way to reduce that stress instead!
I never realized how bad stress eating could be until this year. These are great tips. The WW snacks look great too.
This is my first time to heard it! I’m sure this would be perfect for my wife!
Healthy snacks are a must, and yes I totally stress eat too. Balance is key, I always find out when I exercise I stress less.
