The United States of America is geographically vast, covering 3.086 million square miles across 50 states. Have you seen all this big country has to offer? I am very fortunate in that I have done my fair share of travel but still there is much of this country I haven’t seen. Yosemite National Park is at the top of my travel bucket list.

U.S. Cellular, Food Network and Travel Channel present Big Country - a five-part series hosted by Andrew Zimmern that takes people to places they have only dreamed of seeing.

I was a young military spouse when I first left my home state. My husband’s military career took us from coast to coast and then back again. I think that’s what sparked my desire to travel. I’ve been hitting the road ever since.

Charleston, South Carolina (pictured above) and Seattle, Washington (below) are two of my favorite cities.

The first episode of “Big Country” takes a hard working dad named Julius from his small town in California to New York City. He gets a bird’s eye view of the city on a helicopter tour, spends some emotional time in legendary Times Square, and gets to try some of NYC’s famous street food. I have been to New York City quite a few times and find myself in awe of the city during every visit.
