I missed my morning flight a couple of weeks ago, when heading down to Ft. Lauderdale to go on a Royal Caribbean cruise. Panic set in. But I was able to catch a later flight. By the time I reached Ft. Lauderdale, it was past dinnertime and I was exhausted. Luckily, I was able to catch a $12 cab for the short ride to my hotel. My hotel, Hilton Garden Inn Ft. Lauderdale Airport-Cruise Port, offered a free airport shuttle but I chose to not wait for it. After the day I had, it was nice to walk into the bright, tastefully decorated hotel and be greeted by the friendly hotel staff. If you are looking for a place to stay near the Ft. Lauderdale Cruise Port, I highly recommend the Hilton Garden Inn for both convenience and comfort. Read on to learn why.
The Hilton Garden Inn in Ft. Lauderdale offered everything I needed that night – a comfy bed, work space, free wifi, a place to read, and good room service. The room service was a bit of a spurge as I was hungry and tired, after all. I highly recommend ordering the Key Lime Pie from their menu. Strangely enough, the free internet didn’t get used much other than checking my email. After dinner, I took a stroll and paid a visit to the hotel bar.
In the hotel lobby, there were plenty of places to get cozy and enjoy your drink. I really liked the colorful, contemporary décor of the hotel. If a drink from the bar isn’t what you want, I recommend trying the complimentary fresh squeezed lemonade.
After an evening of watching television in bed and a great night’s sleep, I took a shuttle to Port Everglades. While the hotel doesn’t offer a free shuttle to the ports, I felt the $8 fee was very reasonable for the 15 minute ride. Be sure to reserve your spot on the shuttle at the front desk.
I wish I had the time to take a dip in this beautiful pool. Doesn’t it look inviting?
Located in Dania Beach, Florida just south of Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood International Airport and a few minutes from Port Everglades Cruise Ship Terminal, the Hilton Garden Inn Ft. Lauderdale Airport – Cruise Port hotel offers convenience and comfort for those arriving and departing from the airport and for pre/post cruise stays. If you have a little time to kill while you’re there, plenty of beaches and shopping malls are nearby.
In my opinion the Hilton Garden Inn Ft. Lauderdale Airport-Cruise Port hotel is a great place to stay before and after your cruise. Visit the Hotel web site for reservations and additional information.
In full disclosure, I received a complimentary stay in exchange for sharing my opinions with you. As always, all thoughts and opinions are completely my own.
We just went for a weekend get away; just the husband and me. While looking for hotels; the first thing the husband said was “look for a Hilton!” lol. We know what makes a good Hotel stay and so does HILTON! And yes, from your pictures; I’m so right! That place looks absolutely amazing.
That room looks huge! I love lemonade, I could probably spend my whole stay in the lobby!
I could use a weekend escape and I’ve always enjoyed staying at the Hilton.
Living in Orlando, we cruise often out of various Florida ports and it’s good to know a good place to stay near Ft Lauderdale for it’s close to drive there the same day, but the turnpike is notorious for accidents that cause a 3 hour drive to turn into 5 or 6, and then, you miss your boat. I’ll check this place out during my next stay.
Ft. Lauderdale is only an hour south of me, this looks like a great place to get away!
This is great to know. We have taken many cruises and I always wonder where we should stay. I love that it is so close to the port terminal.
Looks like a beautiful hotel! I’d like to stay there and visit my friends in Fort Lauderdale!
Now that’s a nice, relaxing hotel! I want to stay there.
What a beautiful room! Hopefully I will get to go on a cruise soon.
i like the contemporary look of the hotel
