Being a woman is serious business! Most of us live crazy-busy lives. With things like aging parents, kids, work, relationships and housework to juggle, we are notorious for putting ourselves last on the to-do list. There are days I even forget to eat. Of course, we want to look and feel good too… but who has the time? Having satin smooth legs may seem like a luxury when you’re a busy woman. Dry shampoo and good rechargeable electric shaver are two essentials that help me look and feel presentable, even when I’m operating on minimal sleep. Today I’m sharing my busy woman’s guide to smoother legs and how you can truly achieve beach ready legs in 3 easy steps!
I love sharing when I find a hack that makes my life easier or a product that I really love. I was recently asked to try the Philips SatinShave Advanced Wet & Dry Women’s Rechargeable Electric Shaver, and from the perspective of a very busy woman, it is the only razor I’ll be using.
I’m not sure which part of my heritage it comes from, but I have dark hair on my legs and tend to have to shave often. Fair, sensitive skin and dark hair is not ideal when you live in the sunshine state and like to be on the beach as often as possible. I’ve tried waxing, but it is painful and, like laser hair reduction, it is also costly.
How to Get Beach Ready Legs in 3 Easy Steps
I’ll be honest, it’s taken a while for me to create a shaving routine that is not only effective, but that’s also realistic and easy to maintain. Thankfully, after much trial and error, I’ve devised an easy 3-step process to have satin smooth legs… even on a busy schedule.
Step One: Exfoliate
Exfoliating your skin has many benefits such as removing dead skin from the surface of your skin, unclogging your pores, and encouraging blood circulation. Since shaving exfoliates your skin to some degree, you really only need to exfoliate once or twice per week. Exfoliate using a loofah or brush in the shower. You can also use a sugar scrub. I have a couple of simple sugar scrub recipes on the blog: Sugary Coconut Coffee Scrub and Pumpkin Spice Sugar Scrub.
Step Two: Use Philips SatinShave Electric Shaver
It has been a lot of years since I tried an electric shaver. I don’t recall exactly why, but am guessing my previous experiences weren’t all that great. But, much like a good wine (and this mama loves her wine) many of the things we buy are much better than they were, say, 10 or 15 years ago.
Philips has really changed the way electric shavers work, and I have to admit that the Philips SatinShave Advanced electric razor far exceeded my expectations.
The most important feature I look for in a razor is minimal irritation and redness. My skin is very sensitive and the last thing I want is to show up on the beach looking like I have some sort of pox virus. Philips SatinShave Advanced offers a really smooth shave thanks to the pearl tip trimmers, designed to protect sensitive skin from irritation. It is also designed to reach curvy areas on your legs and body for less missed hairs. And, the floating foil shaving head maintains close skin contact for an even shave. Say goodbye to stubble!
I’m always in a hurry and showering is no exception. Thanks to Philips SatinShave Advanced I’ve been able to say goodbye to the days of nicks, cuts and irritation. It also conveniently includes a trimming comb attachment for grooming the bikini area. The Philips SatinShave Advanced can be used wet or dry, in or out of the tub, and it has an anti-slip grip for easy handling. I tend to shave in the shower, since I don’t have a lot of extra time to add to my beauty routine, which makes this shaver ideal. The rechargeable lithium ion battery, provides up to 1 hour of cordless usage. Make sure your shaver is fully charged before using for the first time and watch the battery indicator light so you know when you need to recharge.

Step Three: Moisturize
Always use a good moisturizer after shaving. After you have shaved, pat your skin with a towel, leaving your skin damp so your moisturizer will absorb better.

Hypoallergenic.. I have super sensitive skin. And, I love that it’s wireless!!
cordless hair removal
I like that you can use it in the shower and wash those little hairs right down the drain!
I like that you can use it wet or dry.
My favorite feature is definitely that it’s a rechargeable electric razor. 🙂 The moisturizing doesn’t hurt, either.
I like that it is rechargeable and you can use dry or wet.
I love that you can use it wet or dry – makes it much more convenient.
I love that you get one hour of cordless usage!
I have never used an electric razor but am interested in one. I like that this one can be used wet or dry. I also really like that it can be used on the bikini area and has a travel case.
I like that it has a rechargeable lithium-ion battery that provides 1 hour of cordless use – more than 3 shaves.
