With the holiday season fast approaching families will be soon start preparing for those long drives ahead. Will your family be traveling for the holidays? If you’ve been busy shopping or carting the kids around, you may not be keen to the potential problems with your vehicle this holiday season. Even if you aren’t going on a holiday road trip, there are some things you should do to get your car holiday ready.
How to Get Your Car Holiday Ready
From shopping to attending holiday parties, most people find themselves doing a lot more running around during the holiday season. Now is a good time to check your tire pressure, oil level and schedule any vehicle maintenance your car is due for. A checkup that could possibly prevent any breakdowns or becoming stranded alongside the road side. Take a day and test drive your vehicle on the highway to listen for any noises and watch for trouble signs with any of the gauges. Who wants to spend their holiday stuck at an unfamiliar mechanic shop?
Make sure you have a breakdown kit with a flash light. Also, be sure your emergency road side service is current and have their number handy in the glove box or on speed dial.
You’ll also want to keep your car smelling fresh this holiday season. All those extra trips to the mall and drive through dinners can leave your car smelling a little funky. I’m using PERK Fresh Link to keep my car smelling fresh this holiday season.
The thing I like most about my car is that it’s paid for. But after hauling kids and teens around for the last eight years, it needs a little help in the freshness department.
PERK Fresh Link is a fun, colorful air freshener that can be clipped anywhere and linked together for personalized fragrance combinations. The Fresh Link’s patented design allows the air freshener to easily clip around multiple areas of the car, including the rearview mirror, headrest, gearshift, or grab bars- anywhere you could use some fresh scent with style! The patented clip design gives you endless options – clip it anywhere! It was easy to slip onto the rearview mirror of my Honda.
Here it is on one of the headrests in my car.
You can even slip it onto the gearshift. It’s lightweight and stays securely in place.
The PERK Fresh Link is available in a variety of amazing PERK fragrances, including favorites such as Golden Vanilla, Caribbean Colada and New Car. Want a custom scent? I always take my car in & have it detailed as we do a LOT of traveling during the holidays.
Because we live in an area where we can go from sunny to blizzard at a moment’s notice we always keep our “Winter Tote” in the car with us year round. It includes a container of kitty litter in case we slide off the road, a spare shovel, deicer, a jug of water, a box of granola bars & other snacks, spare hats & gloves for each of us, 3 good sized blankets, hand warmers, first aid kit, and several other items!
What some fantastic tips – I am loving the idea of Perk as well and being able to put it in so many places. x
Oh I love these air fresheners, I have not seen them anywhere yet. Must pick up a few for our cars.
I think I need a Perk for my car. Sometimes the kids spill food in there that I don’t know about. Then it gets stinky in a hurry!
I am making sure to have my good snow tires on my car because it really gives me good traction, and I have had my coolant checked to make sure is is ready for cold temps.
I love the clip it version of Perk, so much better than the ones that just hang from your mirror.
What a great idea. I don’t know much about cars, we don’t have one, but this is great I will be sharing for my car having friends!
I could definitely go for a nice tropical scent in the winter. These are really cool!
Nice tips. I love the air freshener. Looks great. I bet it smells amazing as well.
I definitely try to make sure my car is cleaned out and ready for all the holiday shopping! Keeping a few snacks in the car is great for busy days.
I give my car a good cleaning before the winter and get a new air fresher.
I like how small they are. Thankfully, we aren’t traveling this holiday, but I do love to keep a clean and fresh smelling car year round.
I have not seen a car freshener like this before. This is so cool.
I’d love to have one of these in my car! I’d like to try the Caribbean Colada scent!
That’s a very cute and discreet air freshener… unlike many I’ve had in the past. I wouldn’t mind clipping it to my driver’s seat!
Definitely a lot cuter than most air fresheners! Like those ugly pine tree ones lol!
With our winter being so mild so far, my car always seems to have that wet dog smell.
These Perk Fresh Link products would be perfect!
My boys sure can get smelly! Especially after karate class. I need one of these 🙂
I will have to get this for my car. With two teenagers that borrow the car it can be a little stinky some times.
You definitely don’t want to be stuck in a stinky car in the winter. I like how the Perks are nice and discreet.
I need to organize the trunk of my car. These are great tips for being holiday ready.
That is SO great! I love car fresheners, but I hate how bulky and ugly they usually are. I’ll have to pick up some of these.
I will be cleaning the car out and making sure there is lots of room in the trunk for shopping bags and groceries.
That looks so modern and discreet! I absolutely need one!!
A winter checkup in always a good idea regardless of an area’s weather situation. My car could certainly use a good deep clean after our recent holiday road trip!
Wow that’s an air freshener!? That’s pretty cool, doesn’t look like one and seems to be hidden awhile while keeping things fresh
It was because of the holiday season that we got a car! Our son was 7 months old and we were traipsing across Manhattan with him trying to get the rent a car we had reserved, which of course was not there.
And we need that car air freshener as well!
Mitch
We have been wanting to make a breakdown kit in case of an emergency. Also, keeping your car smelling fresh is always nice!
This is so neat. I like how they can be used throughout the car, not just on the mirror.
Nice tips, I’m going to look for the air freshener for my car. Thanks for sharing this.
I love how this air freshener doesn’t scream air freshener. Nice way to get that car ready for holiday shopping and travel!
What a great list!!! I plan on getting my car holiday ready this weekend!!
I haven’t see n these yet. I love that they can look almost anywhere. Typical fresheners are so IN YOUR FACE.
How cool! I love that you can add it anywhere, including the stinkiest parts of the car (which is wherever the kids are). I need to get some for stocking stuffers.
These are great tips! I agree that a winter checkup is a must. Love those air fresheners too..I have one in my car!
I don’t drive but the fresh links are perfect to hang in a closet or other places. I have one in our broom closet and a few in the area where we put our shoes when we come home. They smell great.
These are cool. I like that you can combine them to create your own scent.
I will be cleaning out my car and making sure we have the ice scraper in there!
