Is a Samsung Galaxy S III from Sprint on your holiday wish list this year? Christmas came a little early for me this year when Sprint sent me the Samsung Galaxy S III cell phone to review. I’ve owned a lot of mobile phones throughout the years, but none of them match up to this slender beauty. I quite literally squealed with delight when this phone arrive, and the smile hasn’t left.
This phone is easy on the eyes… quite literally, with it’s big bright 4.8 inch HD AMOLED display. The design is sleek with smooth corners and surprisingly ultra slender design. The phone only weighs in at 4.7 ounces which is surprising considering how large the display is. I am all thumbs when it comes to touch screens. Friends and family probably think I can’t spell, because I get tired of correcting text messages and send them on as long as my general idea is getting across. Finally, I have a phone with a keypad that is large enough for my fumbling fingers!
The Samsung Galaxy S III is powerful and speedy. It boasts a 1.5GHz dual-core processor, Android 4.0, Ice Cream Sandwich, and access to the Sprint 4G LTE network. This phone is very user friendly, with an easy to use touch-screen menu and all-purpose “home” button. Included are Google Mobile wireless services such as Google Search, Gmail, Google Maps for Android, Google Calendar, Voice Actions and YouTube.
Picture quality is superior. This phone has dual cameras: 8-megapixel rear-facing, zero shutter-lag camera with LED flash and 1080p video capture and 1.9-megapixel front-facing camera with intelligent camera features and facial recognition. Full-resolution pictures look sharp and detailed, allowing you to crop in on areas of interest.

Battery life: The phone’s battery life is pretty good (2100 mAh Lithium Ion battery), lasting a whole day.
Additional Features:
S Voice user interface to enable search and basic device-user communication
Near Field Communication (NFC) technology allows the device to read information from everyday objects, like stickers and posters embedded with NFC chips.
Smart Stay uses facial recognition technology and the front-facing camera to identify the user’s eyes. Smart Stay disables screen timeout if the device detects the user’s eyes are looking at the screen. Galaxy S III is “smart” enough to recognize the user is reading an e-book or browsing the web and maintains a bright display for easy viewing.
Motion simplifies the user experience by understanding the motion of the user. The Galaxy S III cleverly starts dialing a contact if you open his or her details then lift the phone to your ear.
Sprint is the only national U.S. wireless carrier to offer Galaxy S III preloaded with Google Wallet enabling the phone to act like a personal wallet using Near Field Communication (NFC) to make safe purchases at more than 100,000 participating retailers.
3G/4G Mobile Hotspot capability supporting up to 10 Wi-Fi enabled devices
Wi-Fi – 802.11 a/b/g/n
I received the Samsung Galaxy S III from Sprint 16GB model, but a 32GB model is also available. As a blogger, I rely on my cell phone a lot for social media and checking email. This phone has far surpassed my expectations, and after using this phone I don’t think I’ll ever be tempted to switch to an iPhone. The Samsung Galaxy S III is available from Sprint, currently staring at just $199 (with a new line or eligible upgrade and two-year service agreement).
