Jingle the bells, put up some mistletoe and make a cup of cocoa because the Christmas season starts early with the DVD debut of Nickelodeon’s first-ever full-length stop-animation special, SpongeBob SquarePants: It’s A SpongeBob Christmas! Inspired by the classic Rankin/Bass specials like Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer and Santa Claus is Comin’ to Town, this new holiday classic for the entire family arrives on store shelves on Nov. 6. This perfect holiday gift includes two MP3 compatible downloadable songs from the episode (“Santa’s Eyes” and “Hot Fruitcake”) and the exclusive Behind the Scenes Featurette. So there’s plenty to rejoice for both new and old SpongeBob fans this holiday season!
In SpongeBob SquarePants: It’s A SpongeBob Christmas!, Plankton vows to get his Christmas wish – the Krabby Patty formula – by turning everyone in Bikini Bottom bad by feeding them his special jerktonium-laced fruitcake. John Goodman guest stars as Santa Claus. You won’t want to miss the popular SpongeBob SquarePants song, “Don’t Be a Jerk, It’s Christmas,” written by Tom Kenny (voice of SpongeBob) and Andy Paley.
Includes special features: Behind the Scenes, Animatic, Yule Log, (2) MP3 Compatible Downloadable Songs – “Santa’s Eyes” and “Hot Friutcake”.
I have to state that I personally am not a big fan of SpongeBob for younger kids. However, with that being said, my 12, 14, and 14 year old nieces and nephew have really enjoyed watching this DVD. It’s been watched more than any other holiday DVD in this house. So, if you’re looking for a fun holiday DVD for your older kids, I recommend “It’s A SpongeBob Christmas!” for it’s entertainment value.
You can pick this DVD up wherever SpongeBob DVD’s are sold. Amazon currently has it for $9.96.

Thanks for the review. I agree with you that SpongeBob is better suited for older elementary/junior high kids.
