So many of us started the year with renewed financial goals and plans to take control of your finances. Yours might be to save up an emergency fund or increase your retirement savings. Maybe your goal is simply to save enough for your family’s Disney vacation. Perhaps, you just want to stop fighting with your spouse over money.
Whatever your financial goals may be, SunTrust can help with their new onUp Movement which is encouraging everyone to take charge financially, and set a goal. I am very excited to partner with SunTrust to share the onUp Movement with you. I think it’s going to help a lot of people meet their financial goals and live with less worry.
Did you know that over 70% of Americans are financially stressed? Sadly, many people lack the financial security they so desperately want and need. How long would you be able to pay your bills, if you lost your job tomorrow? It’s a scary thought. I know, because I’ve been there myself, living paycheck to paycheck. I used to worry a lot about money, and still do on occasion.
Here are some troubling statistics:
12% of Americans skip going to the doctor because of financial concerns
80% of people admitted that their personal finances keep them awake at night
21% of couples who rate their financial stress as at least “somewhat high” are arguing more
32% of adults say their finances keep them from living a healthy lifestyle
The bottom line is that people are stressed about money. Life offers us so many wonderful and magical moments. I don’t want to miss out on any of them, because I am distracted by financial worries. I’m sure you don’t either, which is why you should join me in taking the onUp Pledge. Read more about it below.

Money should never cause a fight, cause you to neglect your health, or most importantly be the reason why you can’t be present, present in the moment or present to enjoy ALL the moments that matter most to you.
Are you ready to take control of your finances? What will your financial goal be? Mine is to cut down on some of my spending and expenses, so I can build up my emergency and retirement funds some more.
