Kid Inspired Recipes – Kids In The Kitchen

Here are a couple of Kid inspired recipes to get your kids in the kitchen.

Tuna Salad Cones

4 cups water
1/2 cup (21/2 ounces) uncooked elbow noodles
1 (61/8-ounce) can water-packed tuna
1/2 cup cooked peas
1/2 cup (2-ounces) shredded Cheddar cheese
1/2 cup mayonnaise
dash of salt
dash of pepper
6 flat-bottomed ice cream cones

1. Measure water and our into medium saucepan. 2. Bring water to a boil over medium-high heat. 3. Measure and add macaroni to boiling water. When water begins to boil again, set timer for 6 to 8 minutes or cook macaroni to desired doneness. 4. Stir macaroni occasionally. 5.With colander, drain macaroni and rinse with cold water, drain. 6. Drain off liquid from can of tuna. 7. Place tuna in medium bowl and break into pieces with fork. 8. Measure and add peas, cheese, mayonnaise, salt & pepper. Add macaroni and stir well. 9. Cover bowl and place in refrigerator for 1 hour or until serving time. 10. To serve, fill each ice cream cone with a generous 1/3 cup of tuna salad.

Rice Krispies Pancakes

4 eggs, beaten
1 teaspoon sugar
3/4 cup pineapple yogurt
1 tablespoon oil
1 cup milk
12 cup flour
2 cups Rice Krispies

1. Beat all ingredients, except Rice Krispies for 2 to 3 minutes. 2. Fold in Rice Krispies. 3. Fry on griddle until golden.

  • Brilliant, brilliant. Tuna in an ice cream cone! The kids would love this, and so would I ! This is going on my to do list for tomorrow, when we are snowed in! Oh, it sounds good! I’m making the tuna salad up tonight so it will be all ready for tomorrow!
