You know the saying like mother, like daughter. In my family it couldn’t be more true. The older I get, the more I see my mother looking back at me when I look into the mirror. I’m not just talking about physical characteristics, which are strikingly obvious, but also many mannerisms and habits. I guess that’s just how it is with mothers and daughters. It’s the same with my three daughters. Although they are all very different from each other, there are some similarities that we all share like an offbeat sense of humor, and a tendency to jump into things head first. It’s a special bond that we share as mothers and daughters.
{I’m trying to set a good example for my girls, by living a healthier lifestyle.}
As mother and daughter, we are each other’s biggest cheerleaders. With the start of a New Year, many of our conversations have been about living a healthier lifestyle. I really feel that it’s important for me to set a good example for my girls. I have let my weight go up a bit in recent years, and with the encouragement of my girls I am taking it off. We bring out the best in each other.
Two of my daughters share my weight loss goals for this year, so I’ve trying to do my part and have been rallying the troops to get outside and get active. Going for evening walks together as mother, daughter, and granddaughters is great way for us to spend quality time together and get much needed exercise.
