Magic School Bus Weather Station Review

As a former teacher turned stay-at-home-mom/blogger, I am always looking for ways to incorporate learning into my kids’ days.  Which is why we’ve been watching Magic School Bus episodes on Netflix for the past 6 months or so, since a friend recommended Magic School Bus. I love that my children can learn about weather, how the human body works, and dinosaurs (among countless other topics) in a fun and engaging way.

We were recently sent the Magic School Bus Weather Lab kit, and I had to hide it from my son because I knew he was going to be so excited and want to rip it open to play with immediately!

The Magic School Bus Weather Lab is for children 5 years old and up, which is perfect for my son who is 5 1/2.

The weather lab comes with 28 different activity cards and objects with which to create your own weather station, learn about evaporation, create “rain”, and more.

One thing I loved about this kit is that it is NOT a one-and-done activity. The first time we took it out, my son and I made a rain “cloud” (using a sponge), witnessed evaporation and condensation, AND created a weather station and recorded our findings.

But there are still over 20 activities to do within the kit, so we can come back to it another day. I definitely think this is the PERFECT birthday gift for any child ages 5-10, since there are so many learning opportunities – but it is super-fun to do!  I feel great about the fact that the Magic School Bus Weather Lab gives my son chances to observe the world around him, get a taste for science experiments, and record his findings. He just thinks he has a cool new toy to play with! In fact, he has actually scheduled times to perform all the other experiements we haven’t done yet.  And I won’t lie — I don’t mind doing the experiments either. It’s a great way to spend time together, learn something, and have fun!

I received the Magic School Bus Weather Station to review. All opinions are 100% my own.
